That is SO great, Loweeeee....Crap, dancin' all night is challenging cardio..... . ...unless you is slow dancin'... ;)

ThanksEm! There were two slow dances with Superman (the first time since we were married 23 years ago - Rob HATES dancing) & the rest of the night I danced (yes, very challenging cardio) with the bride & groom's biker buddies. The women were a hoot! The groom (Rob's cousin) was in a very serious motorcycle accident 2 months ago so it was a wonderful celebration of his marriage (they were married in the ICU) & the fact that he survived & could also dance!

Thats great loey!!!! I am feeling a bit of pain today too LOL

Get out the icepack my friend! I plan on doing that as soon as we get home! Then I have a great book to read! :-) my iPad is charging so I might not be able to read in the car!

We went for a fall colour scenic drive today. It was a large counter-clockwise loop through southern and central Ontario, into the Kawartha Lakes, Haliburton Highlands, almost to Algonquin Park, and then back home through the southern part of Muskoka. Six+ hours and over 400 kilometers, most of it with beautiful, vivid views. Traffic coming back south was heavy out of cottage country on Sunday, but we needed to seize the moment as it will rain tomorrow.

A very enjoyable day.

Very nice, POeter.....What a great way to spend a day with your sweetheart. I LOVE the Haliburton Highlands -- Will's aunt had a tiny island in Lake Joseph with a little cottage perched on it, and we used to stay there over a weekend. Just beautiful.

The coloUrs 'round here are just starting to change -- you say they're in full force in S Ontario? Hmmm...youse guys get EVERYTHING first...  <_<

No pictures this time out. We are not seeing peak colours quite yet. Another expedition to the NW rather than NE may be indicated.

On my way home now. Ouchy sums up the exam! Part of my problem is my IC. She's going to deal with that first. I have to have 6 weeks of installations of lidocaine & prednisone - double ouchy! I also need PT for pelvic floor disorder. She feels that she can help me but it will take time because IC is just one of the problems. I feel quite blessed - I've had far worse medical issues so this will be a (painful) walk n the park. Good thing I danced Saturday night because I won't be moving around today! The doctor was great & now that the initial appointment is over I'll be able to get in to see her as soon I as call. It's a 45 minute drive each way but she's rated highly, has a terrific bedside manner & well worth the trip! As always I can't imagine life without my dear Psillies! Thank you for always being there for me!!

I went to a wedding last night & was able to dance all night long! A far cry from my falling & writing incoherent posts. My back isn't too happy today, but my chiropractor can fix that.

Yay you!

I can't sit comfortably on most chairs or any stools, and can't stand for any length of time....all because of my back. But I can dance forever. I feel no pain when I dance. It's awesome!

Leeeesargh!   I forget.....did we hear that somethin' happened to yer back?.....

curlyfries Contributor

Nah. It's just one of those things that has gotten progressively worse. What I know is that I have osteoarthritis in my lower back (creates problems if I stand still too long,), 2 bulging disks and a herniated disk in my neck (shouldn't look down to help student, draw, computer), osteopenia, and I have lost 3/4 inch in height. My biggest issue right now is the middle of my back (the sitting problems. No high back chairs, booths, stools, or long car rides)and I have not yet had an MRI on that to find out what exactly is going on. It'll cost around  $900 to get that done. Luckily, the school chairs are great for the way I need to sit....they have low backs. And Brian bought his current motorcycle specifically with my comfort in mind.

Well hi y'all!  After trying to resurect my dying desktop, I've decided it is terminal and switched to the laptop.  This, of course means that I have none of my passwords.....

Finally got around to resetting this one, so, hi!   Missed y'all!

Drive by. Don't know if this was already posted or not.  A song about cookies and them not being gluten-free.

And, possible issues with wif-fi and plants:

I haven’t had any noticeable reactions to salt so I will continue using it. I think I just freaked out when I realized this but it doesn’t cause me any discomfort- so thanks!
    • plumbago
Ok, thanks. I'm so glad to hear you are in the hands of a dermatologist. I hope he/she has given you 1) a diagnosis; and 2) a plan of care with a couple of options so that you have buy-in and comfort with it. I have some ideas, but not having seen the abscesses or you in person, it doesn't really make sense for me to kind of ... speculate further. But your question was regarding gluten, and you've gotten a couple of other follow up questions and answers that are good, including the idea to keep a food diary. Let us know if we can help further or answer any other questions. I'm sorry you're going through this, it sounds very painful.

@plumbago They appear as boils. They are big, like the size of a nickel--quarter, and they hurt when I touch them. I have gone to the same derm for them over and over and she thinks my body is colonized by a bacteria, but even after using hibiclens all over my body they come back.

Welcome to the gluten-free community! It’s great to have you here. While gluten sensitivity or celiac disease can indeed cause skin issues, such as dermatitis herpetiformis (a blistering rash), abscesses in areas like the lower buttocks or thighs are less commonly linked directly to gluten. However, chronic abscesses could be a sign of an underlying immune or inflammatory condition, which might be worth discussing with a healthcare professional. Some people with gluten-related disorders also experience secondary issues like bacterial overgrowth or immune dysregulation, which could potentially contribute to recurrent infections. It’s always a good idea to explore all possible causes, including gluten sensitivity, with your doctor. In the meantime, keeping a food and symptom diary might help identify any patterns. Wishing you the best on your health journey!

You say you have gluten sensitivity? Have you been officially diagnosed with celiac disease or do you refer to NCGS?
