Namaste Pizza Crust Mix..

I used the namaste crust mix for the first time. It was ok, but I think it could be better. Has anyone tried manipulating it with say, baking soda? Would that make it fluffier? I don't want to ruin my next batch because the bag cost me $8. I thought the dough was a little flat and actually, a bit too flavorful. I'd like the seasonings on top, not in my crust. I'm not a great cook, so I don't know for sure if baking soda is going to do the trick and make it more chewy..., fluffy? Has anyone added chebe to the mix? That might make it better.

I also found that Namaste pizza crust 'flat' and even harder when reheated the second time around. Those are basically baking powder biscuit ingredients, rather than the yeast dough I would expect in a pizza. However on the Namaste website at Open Original Shared Link are some other ideas for using that pizza crust mix as well as a recipe for 'Chicago style' pizza. They say:

"Our pizza crust makes a great breading for fish, chicken, veggies, etc.

Wrap pizza crust dough around hot dogs to make Pigs in a Blanket.

Add 2 eggs and 1 package of yeast to make a thicker Chicago style pizza.

Roll the dough thinner, brush with olive oil, and sprinkle with kosher salt. Bake until crisp. Makes great crackers!

For bread sticks, half the ingredients but don't roll out as thin as for pizza

crust. Cut, separate, brush with olive oil, italian seasoning, salt and pepper."

After eating our last 'reheated' piece of the Namaste pizza, we plan to try the 'Chicago style' next time with the rest of the mix. Hopefully that will be lighter.

Good. Glad to know I'm not the only one who found it a bit disappointing. I'm going to try the baking powder next time. I still might half the flour with some garlic onion chebe to lessen the overpowering flavor.

:) Namaste really is flat, but its amazing when you add 2 or 3 teaspoons of yeast to it how it improves, This mix is yeast free and thats why it doesn't have that really nice fluffy and chewy texture that you are looking for.

Another favorite of mine is Kinnikinnick Piza Crust Mix....and it doesn't have the seasoning in it so you can add as much as you want. It also makes fantastic breadsticks.

I just finished making 20 dozen dollar size pizza bites for our state meeting with the Kinnikinnick mix and the group really raved about it.

If the manufacturer says it contains gluten, then I would definitely go with that over the government website.

Yes-sorry for that mistake. Nature's Bounty.

It wasn't the pharmacist. It was the manufacturer. I called Reddy Labs. Reddy Labs said that their Sumatriptan SUCC has gluten in it. The government website information is from December, 2020. So do I trust 4-5 year old information or the information that the manufacturer told me today? Given that it is for my profoundly autistic, developmentally disabled son with celiac disease and migraines who cannot tell me if he suspects he has been exposed to gluten, I went with the information from the manufacturer given to me today. I do wish I had brought them home and run my EZ Gluten and LEOverified test on one of the pills crushed up. But I was so shocked when the manufacturer told me that the pills contained gluten that I put them in the CVS medicine disposal immediately.

People say lots of things, but the site above is a government website and should have the correct ingredients (perhaps ask the pharmacist where they got their info?).

They’re a Canadian brand so I’d assume you’d be able to buy from the US. You can buy them directly from their website but also on iHerb.  Hope your daughter feels better soon.
