  1. Hmmm. In the past the lack of energy and enthusiasm on my part caused concern among family and friends, but I always seemed to be well grounded in reality. As a teen I was referred to social workers in the belief I was suffering depression, but I now think it was just pain and lack of energy because I wasn't eating gluten-free.

  4. I mentioned a problem with stress fractures here the other day. I received my diagnosis of Celiac disease at age 39 after an active life; sports, construction work and time in the military. I never imagined I could have had such a health problem, even though there were times as far back as I could remember when there were socially embarrassing situations...
  5. I started eating a lot of mushrooms after seeing they were a great source of selenium, crucial in bone formation/ replenishment, because of stress fractures that would take forever to heal. My doctor said the stress fractures were likely related to the Celiac disease. Any excuse to eat them works for me, I'll have to find a grocery that stocks these and...
