  1. I wish, my mother, grandmother, nephew, brother and a couple uncles could have had testing. I was confirmed with 2 genes, high risk. Family history, gluten rash, and my symptoms were enough for my gastroenterologist to confirm. The lab also stated no one with as many genes and alleles, ever had a negative biopsy. My family members had severe gluten reactions...
  2. Not, a "fishy body odor". It is referred to as "fetor hepaticus". I have worked in Healthcare, about 29 years. I have worked with countless patients with end stage liver disease, most who died within 6 months to a year of me working with them. They were jaundiced. I couldn't understand, how my nephews, myself, and even my (now deceased) mother and brother...
  3. I have to reply to this. My entire family, as we age to our 30s-50s, have NASH. I have lost several family members to gastrointestinal bleeds. We are always assumed by our doctors to be alcoholics, or sometimes, just overweight and eating too much fat, not enough exercise. My family, is very active, and most are athletes or in military. I was an athlete,...
  4. I see you asked Gloria, about her brand of butter. I wanted to also respond. I use "Land O'Lakes", butter with Olive oil. My BMI is morbidly obese, over 40. Problem with BMI, is it does not account for body builders, or heavily muscled athletes. I used to have 8-10% body fat until I hit my late 30s. Even then, was always told I was "morbidly obese", until...
  5. Update: I have been gluten free, at least 5 years. I am completely cured of lactose intolerance, and also, cured my allergies to weeds, grasses, trees(except cottonwood and chenopods), and even cats! My chronic, life long asthma, only flares up now with high chenopods, or cross contamination, and even when I get covid 19. I now take a couple probiotic capsules...
  6. I have been lactose intolerant, along with my mother, since infancy. Finally diagnosed celiac, at 45 years old. Mom, is undiagnosed, after we canceled her endoscopy. She was diagnosed with hepatocellular carcinoma, and is now on hospice. She had terrible problems with gas, diarrhea and, bloating. I had bloating, after most meals. Her gastroenterologist...
  7. I was diagnosed celiac at 45 years old. . I have had severe allergies and asthma my entire life. I was on Advair diskus 250, Singulair, and a xopenex inhaler for bronchospasm. I had reactions to even low pollen days, particulates, cold air, dry air, all year. I wore an N95, anytime working out outdoors. After I started the gluten free diet, it was...
