I have this problem from time to time too and I have noticed that if I had eaten something my body didn't like (like legumes) I get these hungers for a while after. I also get them when I eat Vitamins for some reason. I dream of food, have to go up at night to eat and feel starving constantly when I am on Vitamins. Not saying that is your problem though.
I have started to add a little bit more fat into my diet too but I find it hard when I can't have any dairy. I cook with oil now.
And I eat egg sometimes. That fills me up well. Seems my stomach isn't super fond of it though. Get gasy, but not sick feeling like with the other stuff I am intolerant too.
I am one of them peoiple that have to eat right away when I wake up and can't wait for a meal when I am hungry. My blood sugar goes down too low. I also have to make sure to eat chicken and fish. Can't do just carbs and veggies for example.
I have realized that most of the stuff I can eat now do not fill me up as well as the gluten and dairy foods did. Dilmemma. Not much help, but some "thoughts".

I have a third reason for itching that has stopped down there. I used to get yeast infections all the time. Not now.

Both HMF and HLC probiotics are very good. They are both derived from humans and are allergen free. Other probiotics are less potent and may contain allergens. I definitely think that either of the two is you best bet. The HLC Intensive probiotics really helped me out. HLC also has a product called Mindlinx, which has specific bacteria that helps break down gluten and casein, in the case of accidental ingestion. Good luck.

Thanks for the input. Interesting with the bacteria that could help with accidents.

I want to eat Sun Flower seeds, but all I have ever seen are the ones that has been "processed" some with salt or what ever.
I am not sure what to do..or what to get? Do I have to roast some myself or..? I am a weirdo when it comes to cooking and stuff so this might be a stupid question for some. I wanna have natural ones kinda, possibly organic if there are any.
(The one good thing that came out of this all is that I have learnt to cook some. Working progress. )
Thanks for any reply.

Bummer. You have all convinced me. It was a nice dream though...

Did you know that it isn't necessarily a bad thing to get sick from taking probiotics? It could mean that you have an overgrowth of bad bacteria and the good stuff is coming in and starting a war. Or it could mean that you're intolerant of something in the formula. When I first went on pro-biotics (can't remember the type the doctor gave me) I was extremely sick for at least 10 days, then it got a little better and I was fine after 3 weeks.
Interesting.

Thanks Ursula.

You had a permanent tooth when you were 4?! I'm impressed. Most kids don't start losing their teeth that early.
Maybe I had brain fog already by then.. I know I had not started school yet. So I guess that would make me 6 years old. Sorry about that.

I've never heard of having discolouration spots removed before. I have discolouration on my permanent teeth that is likely flourosis (over exposure to flouride when the adult teeth were forming) and also had a number of cavities in my childhood. As the discolouration is really just cosmetic, I don't know that a dentist would actually remove part of the tooth to fill it in. I could see them being capped to cover it up though.
My son is experiencing the same now. He had two cavities by the time he was three (and has had a few more over the years), he has white spots on his permanent teeth, and has an issue with plaque build up. He just had sealant put on his permanent molars to slow the formation of cavities. Hopefully it helps! We're still investigating the possibility of celiac in our family BTW.

Well, I guess I should mention that I am born and raised in Sweden and they are big into dental stuff over there. Free dental care until you turn 19 and we had a lady coming with mouth rinse way too often to school.
Well, so maybe that is why it was done.
It was a white spot. Not sure if the enamel is weaker there or anything. It was just removed.

I thought it would be nice to mention that now when I have looked at the Dr Fine seminar (via DVD) it was mentioned by one of the doctors that there is no buckwheat produced in the US that is safe from cross contamination from Gliadin. There were some other issues with other grains and seed (incl. Quinoa) with another protein...
He said rice was fine though.

What I quoted I copied straight from the label.
Ok, thanks. I am not doing any Legumes, does it say anything about that at all? I was thinking about the vegetable capsule of if the bacteria were grown from/on a legume..? (Sorry for being so troublesome )
-
I wonder if the treatment would be different for a permanent tooth? Oh well, I'm not going to worry about it. It will probably be braces that will be the biggest worry, but so far none of the dentists we've seen has mentioned it at all for any of the kids...
Oh, I forgot to mention that it is a permanent tooth. So it is still there. I remember it not being a big deal when it happened. The plastic is almost all gone now so I need to get some more/new on there.

Oh, that is just bad. How unsensitive of that teacher.
I am not a child but I have to deal with constatnt treats laying around this house (we live with my husbands family right now). To me that is very hard, I can imagine how much more difficult it would be for a child. Makes me angry just to think about!!
Hope you will figure something good out for your daughter.

Okay, maybe I missunderstood the whole thing. Enterolab is gonna think I am a weirdo.
Normally I wouldn't look into this, but my world feels very "small" now when it comes to food. I feel like I am eating 10 things over and over..

I use HMF Forte Human Microflora by Genestra Brands. It costs a fortune, but is guaranteed to be free from sucrose, starch, salt, preservatives, artificial flavors or additives; or any corn, wheat, yeast, gluten, soy, dairy or animal by-products. It is in vegetable capsules.
I got worse when taking other brands, but this one really helps and I don't react to it.
Thanks, I'll look into that one.
Where did you read it was free of all of those things? Or did you talk to them? I can't seem to find much ingredients info on it.

I'm dairy free and tried Culturelle last year. It made me incredibly sick. Mostly nausea--I felt awful. Actually, I've never found a probiotic that I can tolerate.
Ugh, that sounds bad. Thanks for letting me know.
-
Why not contact enterolab and ask them about the casein in Culturelle. They have been really nice when I have asked them questions. A casein allergy is similar to gluten, but maybe it doesn't cause reactions at such small amounts. I honestly don't know. But I would choose not to use it at this point for myself.
Sorry about the garbanzo beans!
Have you gone online and looked for probiotics without dairy, soy, legumes, etc.? It's worth a look.
Yeah, both my husband and I have looked online and all over town. The Probiotics seems to either have legume, casein or gluten in them.
I'll keep on looking. I'll send a little question to EnteroLab too. Good idea. How did you contact them? I haven't been able to find an e-mail adress. I sent another question off today on their hompage/that contact us thingy they have. Did you use that too?

Its actually one of those "hidden" MSG ingredients. Carageenan = MSG.
Thanks for mentioning that. I ate some Salmon burger thingy that had that. My mother in law told me it was a spice.
So I am a little slow; MSG actually comes from Soy?
I do very bad on Soy (all legumes) myself. I didn't do too well on that Salmon burger..
I think sometimes it takes a while for symptoms to start.

I have read at several places recommendation to get shots for additional allergies. I did read they seem to work better for inhalants than food though. But maybe I missunderstood.
I am allergic to apples, pears, cherries, carrots, peaches, all tree nuts, almonds, plums, birch pollen and strawberries.
I never seemed to have that much problems not being able to eat the fruits and nuts but now, when I can't have gluten, casein and legumes my world is suddenly much "smaller". I think the book Dangerous Grains speaks of getting shots...but I am not 100% sure if it was there I read it.
I am gonna try to search more online and I actually sent off a little e-mail to EnteroLab about their view on this. Not sure they will answer questions like that though. Thought I'd try anyways.
I did read some where that it was supposed to be bad to try to alter allergies with shots like that. That one is supposed to listen to the body kinda. Who knows. Would be interesting if I could get a reply from EnteroLab. They (one of the guest speakers) mention shots at the seminar he holds. (I have it on DVD.)
I guess I should add that I read you can't get them for intolerances.
-
I am just looking at Dr Fine's DVD "Intestinal Health..And beyond!" and one of the doctors speaking on it said that if you have one gene there is 1x the risk to get the disease but if you have 2 genes it is 4x the risk to get it.

I had allergy shots in the 8th grade back in 1997 I think. I got maybe six months into the series of shots and severly reacted to them with severe asthma attacks and they didn't give me any more shots. While on them and recieving what I did never seemd to make a difference in my reactions to anything but like I said I never finished the shots.
I had a co worker once that got them for bee stings. I guess she was really allergic and it helped I guess. But she never talked about it much and it wasn't for food.
Hmm...
Thanks for the reply!

Nope.
I used Natren. They make a couple of powdered ones which fit my multiple allergy needs. They come to you on dry ice when ordered online. Some bigger health food stores may carry them.
Casein is a genetic allergy similar to gluten. I think it's too serious to take a chance on when you don't have to.
Looks like the Dairy Free Natren are made from Garbanzo beans, which means it is out for me too. I can't do any Legumes.
Thank's for the suggestion though and the reply.
I am wondering about the Probiotics that Dr Fine used himself. Why would he recommend them on his page if they would be bad... He is against Dairy himself. I dunno. I haven't been liking the idea of taking them so far.
I guess the Culturelle has a bacteria that is supposed to be extra good: Lactobacillus GG.
They ship on ice too but are going to stop when testes showed no difference in quality.
But this is just things I have read. I have no idea how true any of it is.
I have to say I am not fond of the idea of taking them... on the other hand there is less than 15 parts per million per capsule..Not sure if I should be scared of that.
-
They removed it like a cavity and put some plastic to protect the tooth there. It wasn't deep enough to get a shot or anything. I had it done when I was 4 so I don't remember much. My father gave me my first watch after it was done. hehe I remember that better.
I haven't had any cavities at all. Been very lucky.

I believe my grandmother died of undiagnosted celiac disease. She has so much troubles with her stomach. Diverticulitis, ulcers, has stomi for a while...so much surgery. She was in the hospital so many times during my life/childhood that it was normal for me for her to be there. In the end she went every two weeks and stayed for a couple of days because of her stomach. The last time they did surgery again and it was so messed up in there that there was no clear path for the food to go. She died 2 weeks after that.
-
I read somewhere else also that the gluten-free diet is the diet that is growing the most. They didn't give any numbers though.
Interesting.

Welcome! It is all very overwhelming at first. I am pretty new into this still but it does get better. I try to think day by day. I LOVE candy and I can't even imagine that I can't ever have any again. So I don't think about it. I'll deal with it later and maybe I'll find other types that I can have instead.
This is a great place to get help, vent, what ever. This place if full of people that know what you feel.
