Ugh. It seems that when there's a positive result on the tTG-IgA, they just automatically go on to do an EMA test (which I just read online uses monkey oesophagus?!), but it takes longer to come back because it's not automated. It's just appeared on my GP app and apparently it's abnormal. So unless they've used somebody else's blood by mistake, that's not...

Labs do make mistakes sometimes, and often mistakes cause extreme results rather than slightly wrong results… I'm keeping that possibility in mind until I get the repeat test done ? It would be the only good outcome, really, because otherwise it's probably either coeliac disease, which probably means an even more annoying diet than I have already, or it's...

Thanks for the link! I'm currently in the same headspace as my partner was when he had optic neuritis and started worrying that everything he had was a sign of MS… With my sensible head on, I really don't think that what I have is DH but it doesn't really match dyshidrotic eczema properly either ? Probably just some weird random histamine thing — I'...

Erythritol is supposed to be BM neutral and have no GI effects because the gut bacteria can't digest it — my experience would match with that. Other sugar alcohols, though… ??? I'm very pale so even in winter I should be getting reasonable amounts of vitamin D — I noticed no difference health-wise when I was supplementing. In fact supplementing turne...

That's a lot of vitamin D! In term time I basically produce rabbit pellets ? unless I go heavy on the polyols. I practically self-medicate with sugar-free sweets… The UK supplement market is quite different to the North American one, I think. For now I'm going to hold off on supplements till I know what's going on (hopefully not celiac disease…)...

I never get them on my palms, thankfully; only on the sides of my fingers and occasionally the backs of them (usually a cluster of at least half a dozen). Which is why dyshidrotic eczema doesn't seem quite right. But I'm not sure they're right for DH either. Mine break eventually if I scratch them enough, then leave little craters or circles of dry skin...

I saw that post earlier! — but when I clicked through I could only read a three line snippet. What's cc? I can't get a very good picture, and typically, my dyshidrotic eczema is as mild as it gets right now (extremely mild!) but here's my crappy itchy fluid-filled blistery things anyway… Edited to add: I once had them all over the top...

Thanks Posterboy ? When I was struggling to get any psychiatric care a while back, I self-treated with Omega-3-6-9 and megadose B vits and vitamin D, and they didn't seem to help much but I'm always open to trying. I'm hoping my GP will be happy to run a test for vitamin deficiencies if I turn out to have celiac disease, and then I'll know what...

Thanks cyclinglady ? Glad to hear it's okay to be annoyed ? I think the bipolar disorder is probably here to stay… I have a strong family history of mental health problems including bipolar disorder, on the side that doesn't have gut problems ? I'm also autistic… LUCKY ME ? Apparently the thyroid antibodies were fine.
