  1. I need to take a lactase supplement. I've never taking one before, so I was wondering if the community could recommend one that is gluten-free and works well. Thanks!
  2. Each bag was 156 grams. It was a little excessive, but their Sweet & Spicy Ranch tortillas were the tastiest thing I've eaten in years!
  3. I was diagnosed with celiac, and after shifting to a gluten free diet discovered I had IBS. This has, as you can imagine, cut down on my already limited dietary options. Oh well, I'm coping! I stay away from foods that I don't make myself, but every so often try something packaged that has the gluten-free certification on it. Recently I tried Que...
  4. I take Mega Food Men's One Daily. It is made from whole foods and is gluten/dairy/soy free. I'm very sensitive to low levels of gluten, and haven't had any issues with this in the year or so since I began using it.
  5. Thank you cyclinglady, and I appreciate you and all the other contributors here that share your insight and experience. I'm much the same with products, although I'm extra cautious regarding sunscreen as I get sweaty during the summertime and I don't want the extra worry regarding my products. I have DH as well, which just seems to aggravate everything.
  6. Hi all, Been having a hard time finding an SPF I like. One was recommended and looks good (Rohto Skin Aqua UV Super Moisture Milk SPF50+ PA++++) but its from Japan and I've had problems getting in contact with the manufacturer. I do have a list of ingredients (below) -- does this appear to be gluten free? Thanks for any help here! Water, cyclopentasiloxane...
  7. I'd recommend brushing up on the Fasano Diet promoted by Dr. Alessio Fasano. I was diagnosed with celiac and had severe DH. I went "gluten free" but over the next couple years my condition only improved marginally. Finally I started reading the writing of Dr. Fasano, as he is one of the most respected experts on celiac and recovery. I followed his diet for...
  8. Which Andalou products do you use? Any partiular benefits to each?
  9. I'm looking for a non-greasy, matte gluten free sunscreen. Preferably something light that I can apply in the morning before going to work. (I'd be fine with a moisturizer with added SPF, as long as it is gluten free and doesn't leave me shiny!) I've been looking for something that fits this description for a couple years. It shouldn't be this difficult...
  10. I really can't put my finger on it. Nobody went near my fridge or cooking materials - those are in my private room - and there were no renovations. I did use a rental vehicle for the move. I know that the company was very careful about wiping down the interior due to covid19, so it is possible some of that somehow triggered my DH. That's possible, but...
  11. Hi, I have dealt with DH for approximately a decade. For the past couple years I've had my celiac and DH under control, with only the ocassional flare-up. These happen very rarely because I am very strict about my diet (I prepare all the food I eat, I keep my food stored in my personal fridge, prepare it in my personal dishes etc.) Two weeks ago I had...
  12. I use Adasept face cleanser. Lightweight and gluten free. It was recommended by my dermatologist (I see this doctor due to DH issues). Same doctor recommended the tubs (not the stuff with a pump) of CeraVe as a moisturizer.
  13. I get bad DH if I'm exposed to gluten, and I'm also super sensitive to gluten. I've been in good shape for a year and a half after adopting the Fasano Diet. I give you all this by way of background. I would like to buy some black pepper to add seasoning to my food. Are there any preferred brands, or things to look out for? I'm wary of shared lines and...

  15. I had recurring rashes for a few years after going gluten free. It didn't clear up until I started following the Fasano Diet. It is quite strict, but if you're like me you'll appreciate the relief of not getting sick anymore.
  16. Hi folks, I had a DH flare-up. It is healing now, but there is that familiar purple mark where the DH had been. Is there anything I can do to help this coloring go away? I have some oils as well as RetinA-micro that my dermatologist prescribed. Just looking to draw some ideas from the community about what seems to work for you. This was my...
  17. If you can find it, consider Adasept for washing your face/hair. My dermatologist recommended it and it doesn't have any irritants in it. I don't find mine to be symmetrical -- that's definitely a symptom of DH -- but I suspect it is related to rundown immune systems. Hope you're eating healthy with lots of greens. (Fasano Diet made all the difference...
  18. I appreciate the response (from everybody!). It is so strange ... paying strict attention since May, I have noticed that I only get the bumps on my head a) after wearing hats and b) when I don't make sure to wash my head in the morning and night before bed. If I wash my head twice a day and don't wear a hat, I seem to be fine. Ignore that routine, and I tend...
  19. I highly recommend reading up on the work of Dr. Fasano, and trying the Fasano diet. I went undiagnosed for years, and suffered from DH on my face and back. I went gluten free, but continued to have horrid symptoms for a couple years after discovering it was celiac. It wasn't until I followed the Fasano diet that I started to recover. I went from being a...
  20. I recently had an upper endoscopy (esophagus, stomach and duodenum) and had my meeting with the GI doctor today. He told me everything looks fine from a gut perspective. He also said that if it was up to him, he would say I don't have celiac. Then he cautioned me to not go out and eat gluten ... he emphasized this is his perspective, from viewing my gut. ...
  21. Hi 42yearoldceliac, I had undiagnosed issues with celiac for years. Tried going gluten free, but kept getting cross-contaminated. I didn't start improving until I followed the Fasano diet. If you haven't already, do look it up. It is strict, but if celiac is your problem, it will be the best way to feel better. As was mentioned above, the acne you...
  22. Hi cyclinglady, I can get sweaty during the summer, and I wouldn't want to risk getting something in my mouth that could contain gluten. Just to clarify, are you saying the ingredients listed above appear to be gluten free, or are you saying that you don't think I'm going to sweat enough to get it in my mouth? I appreciate your reply and elaboration...
  23. Hi everyone, Two questions: 1) I have celiac and DH. I'd like to find a moisturizer with SPF to apply in the morning that doesn't make my face shiny. Preferably it'd be matte. And naturally, it needs to be gluten free. Any suggestions? 2) I saw a moisturizer with SPF that might work. Does this look to be gluten free? Medicinal...
  24. Any suggestions for a moisturizer with SPF that is safe to wear? Preferably something that is matte, as I don't like to be shiny. (I have been using the Cerave AM Facial Moisurizing Lotion SPF 30, and it works ok, but I'd like to find something that is more matte. I know Cerave also sells an Ultra-Light Moisturizers Lotion SPF 30, but I'm not sure if...
