  1. Thanks for the reply. I bought some rice noodles at the grocery store -- I have to prepare them myself. The brand that made the rice noodles I bought has a website printed on their packaging, but it doesn't work. I really want to make rice noodles but don't want to deal with the chance of cross-contamination. I get DH and seem to react to relatively...
  2. Hi folks, What's the risk of getting cross-contaminated rice noodles from the supermarket? I know that rice noodles are naturally gluten free, but I've read of people getting sick because the factory machinery that makes the rice noodles also makes noodles with gluten in them. Is that wide spread? Are there any reliably/certified gluten free rice...
  3. Hi all, Returned from a vacation to discover a well-meaning family member cleaned my personal convection oven with vinegar and baking soda. This vinegar is definitely made from wheat. The convection oven has only ever been used by me. It has never otherwise had gluten in it. Is it safe for me to use? Or do I have to get a new oven?
  4. Hi folks, I have scars on my forehead and around my temples from years of untreated/undiagnosed DH. I am interested in trying some makeup to help reduce the visibility and patchwork coloration of the scars. I dont know a lot about makeup. I am a male caucasian. Anybody know if this would work/worth trying? Are there resources available that would help...
  5. Hi cyclinglady, Thanks for the reply. I'm scheduled for the scope and we've been doing some blood work. I'll look further into what you've said here. One of the reasons we believe I have IBS right now is that after going onto the FODMAPS diet the diarrhea and gas pains generally went away. There has been some learning curve and adjustments made...
  6. I had a late diagnosis of my celiac and it took a few years to get under control. (Thank you Fasano diet!) However, I kept having food issues ... it turns out I have IBS-D. I'm having a difficult time dealing with the IBS. My food choices were already limited, but now a lot of them (including fruit and vegetables) are off limits. Any suggestions...
  7. Thank you all for sharing your insights. I really do appreciate this community. When my scalp bumps(lesions?) were first presented to a doctor the belief was that I had foliculitis. I was prescribed some medication and some product to apply to the affected area. After treating this for a while and seeing no difference we started looking at other diagnoses...
  8. I used to get DH on my face and back. After going on the Fasano diet and being prescribed Dapsone I seem to have solved this. However, I still get bumps on my scalp. Been getting them for years. They look a lot like DH and are sore and itchy. I asked my dermatologist about this and she said it could be part of my DH, or it could be something else entirely...
  9. Hi folks, I picked up some moisturizer with SPF. I'm still new to dealing with my celiac, so I can't tell if any of these ingredients contain gluten. Could someone help me with this? Medicinal Ingredients: Homosalate 10.00%, Menthyl Anthranilate (Meradimate) 5.00%, Octinoxate (Ethylhexyl, Methoxycinnamate) 5.00%, Octocrylene 2.00%, Zinc Oxide 6...
  10. Yes, Cerave AM is available in Canada. Do you find it has a matte finish?
  11. Hi folks, I'm looking for a sunscreen to apply to my face. Besides being gluten free it needs to be matte -- I'm going to wear this on a daily basis to work and don't want to be shiny. I live in Canada, so that might cut down on my options. Any suggestions based on your experiences? Thanks! (FYI I know celiacs only have to worry about...
  12. Hi all, I'd like to buy some packaged salads (arugula, baby kale, spring mixes etc) but I'm quite leery of foods that have been processed. I'm very susceptible to cross-contamination and that's my fear -- that these salad mixes might be using facilities that also process foods that contain gluten. Any experiences with packaged salads here? I live...
