  1. It may not be gluten. It may be food allergy. Have you tried eliminating other foods from your diet? I have suffered from canker sores in my mouth for years. I would get 5 or 6 of them at one time and they were very painful. The dentist thought it might be the toothpaste or the mouthwash I was using. The doctor thought it was either acid reflex, acidity...
  2. As far as finding gluten free products in my stores in Florida (Walmart, Target), I have had no problems. I went last week to stock up and went again today to get more. Maybe its because there is not a big demand for gluten free products in my area yet. I have bought more than normal and stored them in my freezer or pantry in case they will not be re-stock...
  3. I am wheat sensitive and I will know it in about 3 hours and it last for about 2 hours. I can usually figure it out what the food was if I ate something in the restaurant since I don't eat a lot anyhow. And I avoid that food when I go out to eat again. It's more difficult when I try eating a new gluten free frozen dinner or desserts at home. Recently...
  4. So sorry this happened to you but it may be a blessing in disguise. Sounds like he has some ego complex and wouldn't have been a very good doctor anyway. And canceling the test sounds a little suspicious too. Probably he had something to do with it. I wouldn't want to have any test done there if that happened to me and I would have fired him if he treated...
  5. I am wheat sensitive not celiac and been on a Gluten Free diet for 7 months. A few months ago I flew to London from Florida to get on a cruise ship. I made sure ahead of time that the cruise ship had a Gluten Free menu for me and they did a wonderful job. I never thought of requesting the airline to have Gluten Free menu and it was an 8 hour flight. They...
  6. I was tested for celiac and found I did not have it. That's why the doctor thought I may be wheat sensitive. And that seems to be the case since I have not had any stomach issues since I went on the gluten free diet. As far as my social involvement, I haven't had any problems since I can always find something to eat at the restaurants. And when I eat at...
  7. I just discovered that I cannot eat sorghum flour. I get all the symptom several hours later as if I had wheat. I am wheat sensitive. I read some people cannot eat Xanthan Gum ingredient. You may want to check for this ingredients. Heard this is common.
  8. I am a 69 year old female and I have been eating gluten free now for four months after finding out from various tests that I am wheat sensitive. My stomach and bowel problems have all gone away. I have never felt so good. However, in the last month I have noticed that I am very depressed, irritated vary quickly by other people, want to be left alone, very...
  9. Thanks for update. I too cannot eat garlic so it makes sense that other foods could cause problem even if they are gluten free. Right now I am going to stay away from sorghum products until my inside heals some more.
  10. Haven't tried barley or rye yet. Will give it a try once my insides heal some more
  11. After six months of various testing and blood work, the doctor determine that I did not have Celia disease but could be wheat sensitive. I have been on a gluten free diet for three months and all my symptoms have disappear. You won't be able to convince me that it was something else. And when I eat wheat accidentally, my body tells me so.
  12. Been gluten free for four months now because of wheat sensitivity. Had a surprise reaction to gluten free pancake mix that contained sorghum flour. Full blown gluten stomach reactions. Had stomach pain, bloating, sharp pain in the intestine and diarrhea. Pain started that evening and lasted for several hours. I checked everything that I ate that day and...
  13. I have recently been diagnosed with gluten intolerance and have changed my diet. I have read that I need to take additional vitamins/minerals. They tell me what vitamins/minerals but not how many milligrams I should take daily. What is the daily recommended amount? And is there an all-in-one product instead of having to taking multi-pills?
  14. I too have just started the gluten free diet about 5 days ago after been diagnosed with possible wheat sensitivity. All my test came back that I did not have celiac, H pylori or ulcers. Since I started the diet, I have been suffering with mild headaches, weakness like you get when your sugar is low, and just plain tired. However, all my stomach and intestinal...
