  1. Thanks. Yeah my questions are not meant to be asked in a smart-ass type of way, more trying to understand the disease more based on my experience. My gastro doc really couldn't answer my questions other than saying I had to make my own decision based on the first blood test. My confusion is really if I had no symptoms, no increased blood results on my second...
  2. Thanks. Yes I continued gluten free after after 4weeks based in advise from my gastro doc. So if that's the case what wrong with cheating every once in a while? Especially if my first endoscopy shown no damage being on a gluten diet. I have always been told you can't even ingest traces of it.
  3. Over 2yrs ago I was having unknown issues related to immune system. Itching, swollen glands, and also digestive issues. I got a blood test that showed very positive celiac, however the endoscopy scope did not show damage. Some symptoms got better over time and some did not. After 2 yrs I went on a gluten diet of 2 slices of bread for 4weeks and had a repeat...
  4. Ya the biopsy was more to try to find another issue outside of celiac since my gut issues seem unrelated to celiac. Even my first biopsy after a positive blood test came back "no signs of celiac damage"
  5. I am doing the challenge based on my gastro doctor suggesting it. My initial blood test was very high but biopsy didn't show any damage. Doc says there is a chance it was a false positive so I decided to give it a try. I did the test gluten free and it was fine so I am now 3weeks into the challenge and will be redoing the blood test. That should tell us the...
  6. Same with me. I was gluten free for 2yrs and was scared to ingest gluten because of the stories of how I might react. But I was told to go on a gluten challenge and retest. I was scared to start and even held off starting the diet bc work was busy and I didn't want to get sick. However after starting it I didnt feel any different so I guess everybody is different...
  7. 2yrs i was diagnosed with celiac though a blood test (very high transglutaimeigg and iga), even though my endoscopy showed retained villi and "focal intra-epithelial lymphocytosis as the only problem with the test. After 2yrs i have been gluten free, however many digestive symptons did not improve promoting my doctor to look further. Thinking I may have an...
  8. That sounds similar to my issues. I actually had sinus and lymph nodes issues for 2 yrs and saw all the docs I could and nobody could figure it out. It was until wyrs later I started having digestive issues which caused them to look for and find celiac. I have been better since so I am guessing they were all related. Idk.
  9. Ya I definitely have all the remedies down pat including a prescription sinus spray. I guess I am so curious whether this is a celiac symptom alot of people get that is coming back. I guess I could always go off gluten and if it goes away, go back on it for a week and see if it comes back again.
  10. Anybody else have sinus problems as a main symptom of celiac? I went off gluten for over a year due to a positive blood test. Prior to that I had a lot of unknown sinus inflammation (thought it was seasonal changing allergies etc). It has been under control but I went on a gluten containing diet for the last week to get another celiac test. I have felt ok...
  11. Wow, seems like there are so many different reasons why somebody may be or may be not celiac.
  12. Thanks. Ya i guess i will try to co tinue with the gluten diet for a month and if i feel terrible or get breakouts again i will stop and just assume celiac. If not i will just do the blood test after 30days and if it comes back really positive like before, I will again assume celiac. Only way out I guess is no major symptoms and a clear blood test.
  13. Thanks. Thanks. I started the gluten challenge 6days ago with a tiny bit of bread initially and now up to 1 full slice today. I haven't seen any big reactions and I thought most would feel a mid-severe attack within a day. My digestive issues definitely weren't celiac bc they never went away in 18mths i stop eating gluten but I had swollen lymph...
  14. I tested positive for celiac through a high IGG and IGA transglutaime blood test about 18mths ago. However my upper scope biopsy didn't show celiac. I have been gluten free for 18mths since without cheating. My doctor recommended I try to go back on a gluten diet for a month and try the blood test again to double check. Question is....do people with celiac...
  15. Have you heard of celiac disease where you actually can eat a bit of gluten without having symptoms?
  16. So the positive results were dedicated Gliadin slightly high transglutamine IGG really high (>160) normal i think is 15-25. and IGA (28) normal is 15-25. Then said confirm with endoscopy. Which came back inconclusive with villi ok.
  17. I right am thing tRight that's the thing. The upper scope said is couldnt find anything specific but the blood test came back VERY positive for "transglutaminase iga and igg" but I was unwell from something for sure at the time. My question was to them " i have been unwell for 2years, and if I had celiac that whole time and kept eating gluten, wouldnt I...
  18. Hello. Has anybody had experience with questioning blood test results or diagnosis for celiac. And maybe how you knew for sure by symptoms it was 100%? Maybe tried gluten and didnt find any symptoms and then realized later it caused trouble? Asking because I was diagnosed through auto immune blood test results but my upper scope procedure showed inconclusive...
  19. Hello. Has anybody had experience with questioning blood test results or diagnosis for celiac. Maybe was diagnosed but symptoms never went away? Or later tried gluten and didnt find any symptoms? Asking because I was diagnosed through auto immune blood test results but my upper scope procedure showed inconclusive results. I went gluten free for 1 year with...
  20. This one actually is certified gluten free soy sauce.
  21. Hello. I have been gluten free for about 6months now due to celiac. Overall I have had less bad reactions to food then when I started the diet. However still every now and then I will have a bad reaction normally a few hours after dinner. But that same dinner would have been fine a week or 2 earlier. Curious whether it could have been from something I had...
  22. Pre and post celiac diagnoses I have experienced strange symptoms with my tongue. Specifically a white film on my tongue that covers a significant portion and sometimes is slightly sore. It seems to be random and show up only in the morning. I tested taking antacid meds as I thought it was possibly acid coming up at night. It seems to help a bit but not ...
  23. Interesting. Same here, anything as I call it "wet" fats such as oil, butter, grease my body doesnt seem to disgust well even healthy foods such as salmon. But "dry" fats such as nuts with same amount of fat in them are ok. I have gerd symptoms that are helped with ppi's so I doubt low stomach acid is a problem but more enzymes might help.
  24. I am curious whether anybody had GI symptoms or other symptoms associated with work outs after knowing you had celiac? I found working out escalated my GI symptoms prior to getting diagnosed and when I was diagnosed I assumed it was the celiac combined with working out that was causing this. I feel very light workouts aren't a problem, but when I exert myself...
  25. Thanks for sharing. I actually have gallstones and though never had severe pain, was almost certain it was a gallbladder problem. I actually saw a doctor about surgery but he was smart and suggested an upper scope and blood test which confirm celiac. In his words "glad we didnt just go for surgery". Though with gallstones I might have to get surgery eventually...
