  1. OK everyone im back with an update. ive had my colonoscopy and endoscopy and heres what they found colonoscopy- 1 precancerous polyp, mild diverticulitis, internal hemorrhoid endoscopy- hiatal hernia, irregular z line, gastritis/ duodenitis (h pylori) i still havent taken the blood test because i was waiting for the endoscopy...
  2. from what i understand (im not a doctor, or an expert, or a medical professional, just a person experiencing symptoms and searching relentlessly for answers) celiac can cause malabsorbtion and deficiencies. it makes sense to me that the body might crave what its missing, causing you hunger problems. also, i understand that celiac has MANY symptoms, and can...
  3. if you suspect celiac then whatever you do keep eating gluten until your GI doc tells you to stop. i stopped eating gluten on my own and what a mistake that was, but i didnt know. now i have to eat gluten for 2-3 more months in order to try to get an accurate diagnosis of celiac disease. stay strong and know that youre not alone. this is a frustrating...
  4. Update... so I've seen GI doctor for colonoscopy as well as a rheumatologist. The GI doctor was kinda brief, to my disappointment. The rheumatologist said that he didn't think it was rheumatoid arthritis. He said specifically that he thought it was from celiac or crohns, but if the tests come back negative for those then he would start testing me for...
  5. ok met with GI doc. i have an upcoming endoscopy and colonoscopy in a couple weeks, and i still need to take the blood test. she said she wants to check me for celiac and crohns. the ankles flare and subside every couple days, sometimes they can flare and subside in 24 hours. sometimes i can hardly walk, other times like today im not even limping. but...
  6. wow this is the same thing im experiencing right now, only my ankles started about 17 days ago! i wonder if this person ever got diagnosed. anyone else have simultaneous bilateral Achilles inflammation as described above?
  7. I feel the same way. my body is screaming NO MORE GLUTEN, yet i continue. i almost feel sorry for my body as if it werent me, in a wierd way. i told the dr all this but she said to keep eating it. i expressed how hard that was going to be. she did sympathize, but encouraged me to continue. at this point my main concern is accurate diagnosis because ive realized...
  8. wow this is a very complicated disease, isnt it!?!? Im so fortunate that others have painstakingly paved the way to new knowledge and understanding of "gluten" for new patients like me. thanks for all you guys' help and information thank you cycling lady. i wish you all the best!!
  9. im not asking for diagnosis from you guys and i understand your knowledge may be limited. i do appreciate your experience w the disease and your efforts to help others. im very grateful for the info you do provide. i cant stress that enough. my questions and concerns are more about getting an accurate diagnosis, as i understand celiac can be hard to...
  10. do you guys think that if my ankle problem is being caused by celiac, then that would mean the celiac antibodies would be at a level sufficient to detect on blood test, even though ive had no GI issues in the last few weeks??
  11. Thanks for that. ive been eating small amounts of gluten since this past saturday. the weird thing is my stomach has been fine, but my ankles have gotten worse and my lowgrade fever was back. the pain last night was so bad after i woke up and walked to the bathroom and back to bed. i was going to eat 2 tortillas last night but i chickened out because my ankles...
  12. So im getting a blood test tomorrow. ive been eating gluten the last few days but havent suffered any GI "attacks". my question is... before the test when i eat gluten, am i trying to eat a lot of gluten to trigger an attack??, or am i just supposed to eat a couple slices of bread regardless of how its effecting my body?? thanks in advance for any info...
  13. Oh and i forgot to mention..... the mouth sore started when i decided to eat gluten for the first time since i quit eating it, for the blood test. I noticed it on the 2nd bite i took from a pancake.
