  1. I've been reading that gluten-free pizzas are one of the most common items to be cross contaminated, and gluten-free pizza is probably the thing that I order the most.
  2. Thanks. It looks like GliadinX is out of stock at the moment but I did find an alternative product which has good reviews. I think I might stop eating out altogether for a while just to be safe, and then think about using one of those products after I am feeling better.
  3. Just wanted to add, my last gluten exposure that I know of was in March 2021. So I am trying to figure out why I have not had any improvement in more than a year.
  4. Hi, I usually eat out at restaurants or cafes about once a month (just an estimate). I order gluten-free menu items but I never tell them I have celiac unless they ask, which has only ever happened 2 or 3 times. How likely is cross contamination in this scenario? Also, would it be a good idea for someone who still has symptoms to stop eating...
  5. Thanks for this information. Now that you mention it, I have previously reacted to some packaged foods that had sulfites listed as an allergen. I don't have hives by the way, the symptoms that I get from reactions are mostly fatigue, depression, brain fog, and upset stomach.
  6. Thanks everyone. I forgot to mention, I do have an intolerance to high histamine foods, so that could mean I am reacting to the green beans and peas, but it wouldn't explain the reaction to cauliflower and broccoli. And again, the reactions only happen some of the time, not all the time, which makes it even more confusing. I have a theory that my...
  7. I don't know what kind of reaction it is, that's why I'm asking. The problem I'm having is that I seem to be able to eat foods at certain times of the day and I can tolerate it, but eaten at a different time of day the same food will cause symptoms. It is literally the same food, just eaten at a different time of day. I've gone into more detail in the...
  8. Good point, I hadn't looked at it that way before. The reason I wanted to try goat's milk instead of cow's milk is because I am still dealing with some symptoms, and I read that goat's milk is less inflammatory than cow's milk so I was hoping that it might help my symptoms by reducing inflammation. But like I said the cow's milk doesn't cause any noticeable...
  9. It's the other way around. I'm having an issue with goat's milk, not cow's milk. I seem to tolerate cow's milk just fine. I haven't tried sheep's milk or duck eggs.
  10. Yesterday I used some goat milk in the morning and I reacted to it. I felt awful for the whole day - bloating, stomach cramps, fatigue, etc. I also had something similar happen when I tried goat cheese several weeks ago. I can find almost no information on this. Almost everything online seems to point towards goat milk being a healthier option than cow...
  11. But wouldn't that mean I would be having the problem later in the day instead of earlier?
  12. Hi, I am having a very strange issue that I was hoping someone might be able to shed some light on. I've noticed that I seem to be reacting to foods at certain times of the day and not at other times. For example, yesterday I ate the following for lunch: Salmon Potato Green beans Peas Corn Carrot I reacted to one...
  13. Not yet. The appointment is Friday next week. I will let you know how it goes.
  14. Hi everyone, There's one more thing that I thought might be relevant here. I can't be completely sure, but I thought that when I used the almond milk the reaction began to happen as soon as it was in my mouth, before I had even swallowed it. I have never noticed this with any other food. Could this also point towards an allergy?
  15. I forgot to mention, I have probably eaten small amounts of almonds in other products, but I have never eaten them whole.
  16. I don't know, I've never tried them and I think I would prefer not to after this experience. I've just made an appointment with an allergy specialist for later this month, so I guess I will find out then if it is an allergy or not.
  17. In the past I have taken a skin prick test for a peanut allergy and the result was negative. I have also had some blood tests done for food allergies but I was told that blood tests for food allergies are unreliable. I can't remember whether the blood test included tree nuts - I think it either wasn't included or the result was negative, because I would have...
  18. Is it possible I could have an almond allergy? These are the symptoms I got from the almond milk: - Nausea - Stomach cramps - Loss of appetite - Bloating in face and stomach - Dizziness - Headache - Mood changes
  19. Usually when I have a reaction to a food I can pinpoint an ingredient that might be causing the issue, but this has me completely stumped. Ingredients: Filtered Water Activated Organic Almonds (7%) (Almonds, Water) Organic Brown Rice Sea Salt That's it. The product states that there are no added gums, thickeners, preservatives, colors...
  20. Sorry to keep replying to myself, but I just found an interesting study which shows that coffee and caffeine can increase IBS symptoms in some people: https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fnut.2021.632469/full Maybe I do need to give it up then.
  21. I'm also interested if anyone has any suggestions for what else could cause someone to react to foods at certain times of the day and not at other times. I can't really think of anything else it could be because the coffee is the only thing that is different.
  22. I just noticed that caffeinated tea is allowed on the AIP diet. I'm going to try switching to that then and see if it helps. I could probably give up caffeine if I absolutely had to, but I'd prefer not to go through the withdrawal right now.
  23. Hi, I recently noticed that I seem to be reacting to foods at certain times of the day and not at other times. For example, I seem to react to eggs if I eat them for breakfast, but not if I eat them for dinner. I noticed the same thing with green beans, cauliflower and broccoli. I tried eating these for lunch and I reacted to them (I'm not sure if it...
  24. Hi Scott, I was wondering the same thing. It really did feel as bad as eating gluten. Here's the exact product that I used: https://nuttelex.com/product/nuttelex-original/#nutritional-table It claims to be gluten-free. Do you think there is any chance of cross-contamination? I am not aware of being allergic to any of the ingredients...
  25. I've started using higher amounts of omega 3 and it does seem to be helping with symptoms (presumably by lowering omega 6). I'll update again if things continue to get better or worse.
