I think it is very complex and could be related to other health issues. I now only eat at home to avoid cross contamination and eliminated all grains. Since doing this it seems as though the fluid has stopped accumulating in my chest. That's progress! How are you feeling?

For the most part I just had one really swollen lymph node on the right side of my neck above my collar bone. It was so big that it was blocking blood flow in my jugular vein on that side. OMG! I just read the article and am speechless! Could my health issues be caused by a thiamine deficiency? I am going to talk to my doctor and pick up a thiamine supplement in the meantime. Thank you so much for sharing this! So glad I found this thread! Oh, and I do have fluid in my chest cavity.

Glad you are going to ask to get a chest x-ray. They are such an inexpensive way to see what's going on in your chest. I think mine cost my insurance $36, and uncovered serious problems, including the fluid in my chest and a mass in my right lung. The mass has since shrunk and biopsy was negative for cancer. I developed a chronic cough over a year ago. Went to an ENT and he thought I had acid reflux but esophaogram was negative for it. I find it interesting that you get pleurisy when you accidentally eat gluten.
