now how exactly is that going to eliminate symptoms? we have people suggesting that they will be able to counteract glutening by taking an enzyme, i currently don't have the attention span to be getting caught up in semantics

Is it Important to ONLY eat Certified gluten free?
MisterSeth replied to Zenith's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
walmart "great value" chocolate. some of them have "may contain barley". I was a little shaky about hershey, nestle, cadbury etc until I read that, I think barley is considered a common allergen in canada now. -

ive felt shaky about eating chocolate bars because of that. it doesn't explicitly say they didn't do that with the cocoa, but I noted some choclate DOES say "may contain barley oats rye" which makes me think they have to declare it legally, at least in canada -

if it outright says "gluten free" its probably safe. I think typically the products approaching 20ppm and are gluten free will say "processed in a facility that also processes wheat" meaning they tested it at 20ppm but it was still adjacent to flour at some point. many products don't get certified because a supplier didn't want to spend money getting... -
you might want to keep your own dishes and wash them separately. as for any gluten enzymes that are marketed, they don't work. one thing you can try is an ascorbate cleanse, which is where you drink lots of water, take a ridiculous amount of vitamin C (like 1 gram per hour). drinking lots of water in general will flush your system, the excess vitamin...

corn is one of the most common allergies and you may react to it differently depending on its form. corn that has been dehydrated gives me diarrhoea personally. I can handle the corn syrup and corn starches, which probably have all the proteins removed. I can also eat corn on the cob and even canned corn. popcorn, doritos, and tortilla chips go through my...

Burning Sensation in Gut
MisterSeth replied to MissiMissi's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I ate 2 bananas for breakfast a few days ago and had that happen. It settled down after I had some roasted/salted almonds. I decided I'm probably not banana intolerant because my poop was solid/sank to the bottom. I eat too much sugar, I work in a freezer warehouse that probably causes me to burn 3000+ calories a day and I'm always hungry to the point of... -
first thing my doctor told me is that if you can see all the ingredients in front of you it's always going to be safe. shop in the produce section, especially now that its summer and everything is in season. i wouldn't recommend eating fast food, even if it's gluten free, they're hiring a lot of morons who think they're too good to work there yet still apply...

wash his clothes and bedding in hot water with a little bleach. (the hottest setting on your machine) if that helps it tells you he's allergic to dust mites or pet dander. if it doesn't help read the fabric tags looking for wool/fleece specifically. allergies to fabrics aren't unheard of detergents are also a possible culprit I went through...

yeah i know they don't care. I was the one who witnessed and reported a guy sucking on the tap. told the supervisor who was even patting himself on the back going "hey seth look im dealing with it" and i see a piece of paper with some writing on it, i dont think it was even a strike against him. so i go to HR, they refuse to even tell me what the nature of...

because i wear prescription glasses I can't wear masks or goggles in the freezer, they impair my vision and i'm driving a fork lift. none of the coworkers are wearing masks either because our employer doesnt seem to have any. my point is more that these arbitrary rules grocery stores have about not touching anything you aren't going to buy is a money...

It's very noble that you're still avoiding touching things and stuff to help stop the spread of COVID-19. I have some troubling news for you though; when the front line workers in the warehouses and stuff practice poor hygiene the companies and government agencies rarely do anything about it. I've witnessed multiple disgusting things in my warehouse which...

LOL "forced back to work too soon" i wish i got to isolate for months like all of these people. i got 2 weeks off, had to cut through red tape to get it, and i've been at work this whole time apart from that. my employers never really let me use celiac as an excuse for anything. I've been called into the office 3 separate times to "have a conversation about...

it can be. are you also experiencing caffeine withdrawal? dairy and gluten both produce opiates in your gut so in some ways its a lot like quitting a morphine addiction. but your symptoms can also be described by a B vitamin deficiency or a caloric deficit. make sure you're replacing the gluten with some rice or something, make sure you're replacing the dairy...

to add to this, you probably won't know you had brain fog until it goes away. as far back as grade 4 (18 years before diagnoses) i would get in a lot of trouble for "day dreaming" literally every chance I got. I never ended up with an ADHD diagnosis because the teacher was comparing me to my older sister ("reverse" sexism anyone?) in a completely ridiculous...

goosebumps stopped mostly, it was probably CHS. loss of appetite in a job that makes me handle 10-20k kg of freight a day

rancid beef sweats during sleep
MisterSeth replied to MisterSeth's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
meat in general, yes, not 100% sure if its all meats or fatty foods or what causes this. the choking is the only worrysome symptom but thats not happening now and the last time it happened I was just in the hospital for a severe allergic reaction to dust mites, didn't know letting mold grow on steak to give it flavour was common practice, I'm probably allergic... -
rancid beef sweats during sleep

is this possibly a symptom of recovery? i only ask because it seems strange how no one has said anything or looked at me funny even though the smell puts me off. does normal metabolism of beef make people stink? -

yes but burgers never did it before i cut gluten. it used to happen when i ate steak, i've always had a small person problem of overreating protein thinking it would make me bigger. also the smell seems to bother me more than everyone else, I even had a girlfriend about 7 years back who noted I seemed to have a lot more "energy" when i ate beef. she noted... -
something to add. if you drink a lot of energy drinks you may not notice the same b deficiencies as others because energy drinks tend to only have b12 niacin and riboflavin. so you'll be getting plenty of niacin but no thiamine, folate, or biotin at all
