  1. Hi Lovely People Has anybody tried and tested colostrum. I have Coeliac Disease and a very bad case of Small intestinal bacteria Archea overgrowth. For once in awhile I would really like to not be in pain, bloated, rushing to toilet and properly enjoy a meal. Happy New Year, you awesome people. 🤪
  2. Apparently, he was taught by Harry Potter to take a couple of blood samples, centrifuge them, analyse them. Then cannulate, give anaesthetic, perform gastroscopy, take at least 6 biopsies and analyse those. All in a blink of an eye. I need to meet this guy. He sure is special. 🤪
  3. Hi Elaine, I do not put things down to ‘psychosomatic’. I am a qualified health professional. Inflammation of the gut, inflammation to the brain. The Gut-Brain Axis consists of 8 systems, several of the types of Nervous system. From malabsorption, deficiencies occur and if a person understand some biochemistry and what happens in our 300 trillion cel...
  4. Thank you Jeff for bringing this to our attention. Unfortunately, there are people on the internet who spend an hour completing a quiz to find out what sort of potato they are. Whilst some us actually study Biochemistry, read scientific literature and attend medical lectures. Andrew Lopez maybe a Remarka potato. I could cook mash him, roast him and then...
  5. Thanks Scott, Excellent, easy to read, well presented facts as always. Best wishes, Charlie.
  6. Oh Cissy, It has had major impacts on studying, careers, sporting abilities, relationships, financial, fertility, dental problems and just trying to be heard was extremely difficult. I was a quiet introverted girl when my grandmother took me to a doctor aged 21. They thought I had an eating disorder, so once that label was put on me my symptoms were...
  7. I am so sorry to read, everything that you have suffered. I wish you better health now that you are gluten free. 😘
  8. I am so very sorry to read. You know you are and it is a daily toll on the body and mind. It impacts every aspect of your life from your daily living activities such as having the energy to wash, dress, make a hot drink for yourself, driving, getting actually to work, relationships as well and trying to follow a tv programme. I am sorry to read of your...
  9. Fab thank you. Yes, it’s all there. If a person looks properly at the Kreb’s cycle (Tricyclic Acid cycle), a person can see where the co-factors come in. It’s like a beautiful complex mathematical algorithm or even better an orchestra. Every single instrument knows how loud or soft, how quick or fast, how brief or long they need to play. knowledge is po...
  10. Thanks knittykitty, I hope you are well. I have bookmarked the articles for my dissertation. Hence my reason for asking the question. Information gathering is also part of research too 😉
  11. Hi Nick, I am sorry to read how this impacts your life. The falling asleep is not good. I have P.A/B12 deficiency and I have injections. I am U.K. based and on several other websites. I am a qualified health professional but haven’t been able to work for years due to my own health. Anyway, I take a keen interest in this so in 20 minutes BST will b...
  12. Dear All, Just a quick question. Has anyone had vitamin B12 deficiency as a consequence or Pernicious Anaemia diagnosed (alongside) ? Please note, this illness is often poorly recognised, misdiagnosed, mistreated and under treated. All the best, C x
  13. Thanks ever so much for your reply. I had read your adult story but unaware that you were symptomatic as a child. I had eczema as a child. I was affectionately known as ‘Hollow legs’ as I could eat and eat. When I stayed with my grandparents, I would look at my grandmother with big eyes and she’d know I’d want biscuits. She’d tease me and say it was ‘cupb...
  14. What diagnoses did you receive prior to coeliac disease ? What impact did it have on your life ?
  15. Good that you did not have to eat gluten. Oops, I am so sorry that I got things mixed up with pre-endoscopy diet. I am not the best person to ask regarding them taking biopsies as it is different rules in different countries. Hopefully, the more knowledgeable people on here will be able to inform you. Best wishes
  16. Hi Jane, Instructions should be provided. I’m in the U.K. so it was nothing to eat 12 hours before then nil by mouth 2 hours before. So, my diet prior, 3, 2 and 1 days before - for me it has been a very long time to have coeliac disease even recognised. I was still eating all the gluten laden food, bread, potato chips and I even ate things I really d...
  17. Good to hear you feel better from going gluten free. Hoping it improves further.
  18. I hope everyone is ok. Sorry, I have not been on for some time and can’t find the original post/thread regarding this particular protein building block (amino acid). Thank you so much to Knittykitty, for your advice. I did invest in some Tryptophan plus had a read around. Now, in my limited understanding, the only piece of medical research I could find w...
  19. Thanks Scott, Unfortunately, I haven’t received the official stamp of celiac disease. I have had 2 positive blood tests. When the doctor told me of the second not realising I had had a first, I felt pretty unwell, so decided not to eat it ever again. Cleaned my home, changed kitchen items. I found out I have the HDL DQ2.5 gene, plus have had signs a...
  20. Well my journey has been rather long, arduous and continues. Thanks to 2 doctors I was admitted to a neurology ward. On my return home, I received a box of chocolates containing WHEAT. They were from a sibling who is a medical consultant and their spouse is also a consultant (liver and blood so trained in gastroenterology). I did not thank them for the...
  21. Hi, I love your name !! So, I’ve had Raynaud’s phenomenon since aged 12, cold hands, feet that change colour, painful, numb. It is visible as lots of our symptoms are not. Recently, I read about the link between low magnesium and Raynaud’s. I have always been cold, I find winters too harsh, wear layers of thermal clothing, hot water bottles etc. ...
