Oats Not Safe for Some People with Celiac Disease
dolson commented on Jefferson Adams's article in Oats: Are They Gluten-Free?
No, it's Keppra. My bad and I'm sorry. Here is the report from my MRI. I do believe the problem is eating oats, wheat, drinking milk, eating cheese, eating soy, and consuming peanuts. You wouldn't think I would have this damage to my brain, but here it is: HISTORY: SEIZURES G40.301 COMPARISON: MRI brain 7/22/2022 TECHNIQUE...- 10 comments

Oats Not Safe for Some People with Celiac Disease
dolson commented on Jefferson Adams's article in Oats: Are They Gluten-Free?
I have been tested by Dr. Kenneth Fine. He told me OATS is a big NO NO! I like oatmeal but will never eat oatmeal again. I can't have dairy, wheat, soy and hard stuff like sunflower seeds and popcorn. I can't eat peanuts. I was wondering if I could eat boiled peanuts. They are popular down here in the south. I really like boiled peanuts with lots of salt...- 10 comments

I am a Type 1 diabetic and that is a true disability. It is not inherited but caused from stress and I know where I got my diabetes from and the stress that caused it.

Celiac Disease Causes Social and Dating Anxiety, Lowers Quality of Life
dolson commented on Scott Adams's article in Additional Concerns
When my husband and me went to Lorain, OH, my husband's hometown, his friends wanted us to come over to eat lunch with them. My husband told them what I could eat and what I could not eat. Saturday came and we did not hear from the couple. I know we made it for that Saturday. I think they just didn't want to have to deal with my food allergies. The husband...- 21 comments

This is my problem. If I ate something not gluten or dairy which I am not supposed to eat, it won't kill me, ordinarily. But if I don't take care of my Type 1 diabetes, it will kill me. I have to use artificial sweetener with everything I make or eat. Sugar is not allowed in my house. I will not die from diabetes at this time. My diabetic doctor told me you...

The best airline to fly is United. I told them I was Celiac and they gave me a bar of crispy chocolate with no dairy. The worst airline is Swiss Air. First off I had broken my wrist in two places and they threw me off the airline. I had go back to a doctor in Luzerne, Switzerland, to get a permit to fly. Now of course, the Swiss are known for their chocolate...

The best liquor for me is Tequila. I read somewhere that Tequila is actually good for your gut. I read something about red wine which is supposedly not good for Celiac disease. I think it's the tannin in the red wine. I just consumed my half-jigger of Silver Patron Tequila and grapefruit juice. Delish, and my tummy feels wonderful. Bottoms Up, y'all...

Scott Adams' Story of His Diagnosis of Celiac Disease
dolson commented on Scott Adams's article in Diagnosis, Testing & Treatment
Hi lovetolove, Celiac Disease strikes any time. Mine came when I got off mother's milk and got on cow's milk. I was always crying in photos and looked bloated. My aunt got Celiac around her 40's and her sister, my mom, got Celiac in her 70's. I got Celiac once I was off mom's milk and put on cow's milk. I've been dealing with this since a toddler and I'm...- 171 comments

Recurrent Aphthous Stomatitis Points to Anemia and Celiac Disease
dolson commented on Scott Adams's article in Skin Problems and Celiac Disease
I too had many canker sores in my mouth. I also lived on Pepto Bismol and never put the two together. I went to every doctor in Savannah, GA. I was one sick kid and not a clue what was wrong.- 7 comments

Hi Knitty Kitty, My brain is working fine, thanks to you. The Vitamin B supplements do the trick.
I went to my diabetic doctor and my A1C was 4.4. I remember when I had a 1.2, A1C. That's below a non-diabetic. My blood work is perfect. I am a happy camper and I give you most of the credit.
How are you doing? I miss our chats online. Dorothy

I don't trust foods that are gluten free in the grocery stores. My husband bought gluten free bread, but the ingredients indicated wheat and oat flour. Uhhhh, that's gluten in my book. Plus I can drink cow's milk. I looked at ice cream, casein free and the ingredients were milk, cream, and a whole bunch of stuff I've never heard. Dorothy

Hi HLM, We are totally different. Eggs do not bother me one iota. I love eggs. It's one of the few things I can digest with no problems. Part of the problem with Celiac Disease is we are all different. I can no longer eat potatoes. Night Shades! Rice is all I can eat and I love rice. I'm taking my rice mesh bag to a restaurant and see if they can boil it...

The Role of Mast Cells in Celiac Disease
dolson commented on Scott Adams's article in Latest Research
Hey y'all, I am at a quandary over everything associated with Celiac Disease and Microscopic Colitis. I have 4 autoimmune diseases and left tired, exhausted and discouraged. Celiac Disease is bad enough but MC is the complicated one that has made we want to inquire about surgery in my gut. MC is doing a number on my Type 1 diabetic blood sugar. I've heard...- 8 comments

Mission, Doritos and Other Brands of Gluten-Free Corn Tortilla Chips
dolson commented on Scott Adams's article in Gluten-Free Foods & Beverages
I agree Laura. I have to be super careful. I have 4 autoimmune diseases and it's not been an easy road to hoe. Microscopic Colitis, another autoimmune disease is messing with my blood sugar. Super highs that will surely put me 6 ft under. I may consider an operation on my gut. Going to Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville and weigh my options.- 6 comments

Mission, Doritos and Other Brands of Gluten-Free Corn Tortilla Chips
dolson commented on Scott Adams's article in Gluten-Free Foods & Beverages
I love Mexican food and the corn chips they give you when eating Mexican Food. Maybe I can get my own corn tortilla gluten free chips and dip them in the sauce. I don't think I can eat the sauce either since it's a histamine producer and I think that's where my Boop Pneumonia came from, not sure. Boop Pneumonia is deadly and rare and many die from the disease...- 6 comments

Hi White Ridges, I've forgotten to look at my Enterolab report, but mine was not bad, per Wayne Persky. I was told to eat everything soft and eat lots of meat for healing. There comes a time when you get sick of being sick and want to try and live a normal life, but with three autoimmune diseases, that's impossible. Seems I can only eat rice. I am eating...

Trents, please get your child on Dexcom. My Microscopic Colitis has caused my food to sit in my gut and not process food. It decides when to process my food. Type 1 diabetes and MC is tricky and difficult, but you can heal. It takes longer if you're older. I will do anything - starve myself if necessary because Type 1 diabetes will/can take you out. Sometimes...

Thanks, I've been tested by Enterolab. I showed no response to corn and potatoes. Now I have found I get sick feeling when I eat potatoes. I think our gut changes and you may be okay the first time you eat but sick the next go-around. Our gut is consonantly changing. Don't quote me on that, but the gut is our second brain and it does what it wants to do...
