I always check the restaurants menu before I go anywhere so I'll know if they offer gluten-free. When I get there I tell my server I have to be gluten-free for medical and could they suggest something (even though I already probably know what I'm going to order). Most of the time they will make an extra effort to accommodate me. If they really seem uninterested...
