  1. The villi (cells lining the small intestine) are not permanently damaged in celiac disease. In fact, the cells in the intestinal wall regenerate every 72 hours as long as they are not being exposed to gluten.

  7. If someone has a TTG IGA of 10... and another person has 600.... what's the difference? Does antibody level numbers correlate to immune response strength? Lower number = weaker immune response happening and less damage being done?
  8. High or low doesn't really matter at diagnosis.. if you're positive then you have Celiac... Getting the antibody level to normal or 0 is what natters.

  11. cant eat anything but fresh cooked home made meals if you want to be 100% sure... and possibly "certified gluten free" store bought items.... and dedicated gluten free bakeries..

  13. why aren't Celiacs taking steroids / anti inflammatory medication as a standard treatment? i was at my ENT Dr who told me one of his patients has celiac and she told him she takes some type of steroid which makes her feel better almost immediately.. Then as I was checking out.. the girl behind the counter said oh one of the girls who works here...
  14. mine went from over 100 to like 10 in 5 - 6 months... was still high at 10 but barely.. im having another test in June ( 6 months later ).. im expecting it to be zero but who knows
  15. wow... good sign that its dropping fast though did the biopsy show villi damage? have you lost weight?
  16. nothing good... i never had deficiencies for some reason even though i definitely had malabsorption going on because a lot of weight loss. still havent gained it back
  17. your antibody levels ae over 250.. ">" this means greater than the number listed.. they just didnt record past 250.
