  1. I wonder this as well. I got diagnosed in November with positive but not very high numbers, which according to the doctor was because I was low in IGA. Now they just did another test to check (so about 5-6 months from last blood work) and my celiac blood levels are good (like I would test negative). It feels like that's a really quick drop. I have an endoscopy...
  2. Is the trouble with soluble vitamins by pancreas that doesn't work well? I'm hoping this wouldn't be something that is indefinite. However I have had trouble with fatty stools, but lately since going gluten free not so much.
  3. Hey! I have hashimoto's disease and celiac disease. Was tested for celiac a few times in my life (always positive antibodies but negative/inconclusive biopties), and eventually got diagnosed with hashimoto's at the age of 18. Finally got my celiac diagnoses at age 27 (last year). It sounds like you definitely respond to gluten, whether it's ncgs...
  4. Fellow aspie here! I had a similar experience with losing weight actually. In the last few years I had continue to gain weight (from healthy BMI coming close to 'obese' with 29.5). It frustrated me greatly as doctors kept telling me that I should just 'eat less' or 'step out of the bus one stop earlier for extra walk', it was pretty humiliating as I have...
  5. Thanks! Yes that's a fair point. I have my vitamin D 5000UI from Jarrow Formulas, which make certified gluten free supplements. As far as I can see they seem good. I have to say that I stopped taking vitamin D supplements for about three months because of possible gluten being in my previous one. It took me a while to replace it, so in that meantime it will...
  6. Hey everyone! I was wondering how many of you had to deal with vitamin deficiencies when they were just diagnosed or maybe even still while on a controlled gluten free diet? I got diagnosed with celiac disease in November and have been dealing with a large vitamin D deficiency that was found 1.5 years before that. Been taking quite a lot...
  7. I just got my first vaccination on Friday (Pfizer). I'm a newly diagnosed celiac (nov 2020) and my immune system is totally out of wack. I had a quite severe reaction to covid in March 2020, and my immune system attacked itself and made me incredibly life-threatening ill and after that sick and fatigued for months. Anyway, I have recovered now (I'm 28 y/o...
  8. I’m sorry to hear, that sucks that you’re not eligible yet. I live in NY (nyc), so here they opened up now to: 65+, essential workers, taxi drivers, personal care employees, PT’s, restaurant workers, high risk people with all kinds of diseases (will be expended in March I think). Quite a big group already actually.
  9. Yes it was very scary, but unfortunately everyone can be unlucky 🤷🏼‍♀️. In my celiac panel they saw that I’m low in IGA, so that might be the cause of my cytokine storm that was triggered by covid. Anyway, yes thats for sure. It goes both ways and having been this sick while still being young makes you realize there are no guarantees to good healt...
  10. Yes that makes sense. I think a lot is lost in the language barrier as well. I have a job with a very high travel frequency and with this pandemic I have been bound to nyc, but at one point it will start again and I'm anxious thinking about it haha. In my case I might have gotten used to how food is labelled in the Netherlands, where they have to label gluten...
  11. Getting mine tomorrow! I'm 28 y/o but I have asthma, so I'm able to get the Pfizer shot because of being more high risk. Very excited about it as I got covid in March last year and it was absolutely horrific. I almost died and had to recover for 10 months, still going to physical therapy every week to get back to my usual self.
  12. Hey everyone,.. I'm newly diagnosed since November, and after two weeks I left the USA for my home country The Netherlands to spend December and January there. While I was there I was eating strictly gluten free certified food (which is <20 ppm there), but in a gluten household. Even though I thought there must have been quite some little cross contamination...
  13. Thank you Posterboy for all the information. I had googled around for more information about non biopsy celiac diagnosis but this is very informative and soothes my concern. I remember that when I had my endoscopy and colonoscopy at 19 the doctor told me they had taken like 2 biopsies in total or something. Which I now know isn’t enough to check v...
  14. Yes, I know. I was more wondering if there are more people with low immunoglobulin levels and what their test results were, or people that also didn't get a biopsy but did get an official diagnosis.
  15. Hey! I'm new here and wanted to share my experience with celiac. Since I was about 4 years old I've been complaining daily about abdominal pain (according to my parents), over the years (I'm now 27 y/o) I have completely gotten used to my daily pains even though they have taken a lot of freedoms away in my life. I got tested for celiac at age 5-6 for...
