  1. THANKS! Totally agree! I do not put on my host(ess) or restaurant to know the ins and outs of celiac! I just bring my own stuff and avoid the issue. I don’t want my hostess to cook something for me only to realize she added soy sauce! Just bring your own food and avoid the drama.
  2. I was diagnosed about 15 years ago and at least once a year I have an episode from a restaurant where the employees aren’t properly trained to respect gluten-free. Mainly because it’s a fad now. I consider myself lucky though- I bring my own chips and bread with me if going to certain restaurants and rarely trust the staff unless that are really knowledgeable :oh...

  4. I am Celiac and the only problem I’ve had in restaurants are the chefs who think gluten is only in bread. When I think the restaurant might have an issue, I order a salad with veggies/oil and vinegar. If I attend a party - I quietly bring my own food. Usually with enough to share.
