  1. there’s no reason ppl with celiac live any less than anybody else providing you’re following a gluten-free diet and monitoring your health
  2. any update on your test results? i just read your post and am concerned
  3. when you say bloody stools.. is it blood around the stools or in ??? you could have internal or external hemorrhoids. i’ve had this issue lately since suffering from major constipation after a kidney stone episode
  4. these symptoms can take a while to subside -imagine all the years of eating gluten to then just stop - it takes the body 2-3 years to heal however i found that after 3-4 months my symptoms drastically improved -
  5. you feel normal after 6 months or so and great thereafter if you stick to the diet
  6. yes you can- eating gluten-free is not a cure for all GI issues. we all have issues with diarrhea or mucus etc on occasion - probiotics regularly can produce it as well as some foods - as long as you are eating healthy and clean you will continue to feel better - im on year 2 and my levels were in the marsh 3-4 range and now are undetectable however i have...
  7. have you any updates on the lymph node pain? i would assume it could be from gluten reaction and your body fighting it hoping eating clean fixed it please keep us posted
  8. i recently see blood when i poop but mainly when i’m pushing hard or am constipated! it’s never when i have a regular soft bowel movement! i also feel like it might be an internal hemorrhoid bc at times it feels irritated and itchy / i had a colonoscopy 2 years ago at 48 and all was fine - epsom salt baths help as well as topical ointments -
  9. wow that’s so great! i’m planning a follow up endoscopy in march - it’s been 25 months now i’ve been gluten free and my last blood work this past sept were so great! my GI dr says my celiac levels are undetectable ! how long has it been since your first endoscopy?
  10. night shade veggies can also cause inflammation and rashes - read up on them - i had a reaction from tomatoes a few months ago that gave me a flare up of eczema on my eyes for a week
  11. def at the beginning of my journey to eating gluten-free but it was from eggplants which are night shades and caused my body to be inflamed for weeks prob 3 weeks if i recall - keep night shades out of your diet
  12. have you had your lymph nodes checked out? just read your post and was concerned
  13. how many of you have actually had a follow up endoscopy post dx and gluten-free diet? if yes how many years after and have you continued to followup regularly
  14. ty i really kept it strict and was so excited when my dr called! i don’t know how much lower i can get then at this point but my levels now come up negative 🙌🏻 if you stick to it and don’t cheat - you will have the same success!
  15. just wanted to share that i’ve been on my gluten-free journey now for 22 months! i was diagnosed in Dec 2021 with a marsh score of 3-4 flattened villi - i recently saw my GI dr for a blood test to check my levels such were in the 200s and can proudly report that both my levels are in the normal range and come up as negative in my system - 11.2 and 11.6 ...
  16. i had a terrible breakout 3 weeks ago and i’m a celiac 20 months gluten-free - don’t know if it was from eating eggs or tomatoes which i hadn’t eaten in awhile needless to say prior to eating gluten-free my lips and eyelids would swell up and flake - lips would be so cracked they would bleed - after eating gluten-free i’ve never had an issue with my lips...
  17. i’ve been looking at the labels on the egg boxes but most only say vegetarian fed - nothing about wheat
  18. it’s not really a gi issue though - my stomach is perfectly fine - part of me is anxious but i’d be super nervous if i was spotting month after month - it’s only when i’ve gotten menstrual symptoms and only some spotting - nothing more than a panty liner - not even that - amazingly most GI doctors are only now learning from their patients about celiac disease...
  19. i have my annual pap smears and they have all been normal - like i said im thinking bc celiac made me go into menopause earlier that maybe now eating gluten-free it’s triggering my body in some way - how could it only happen one year apart?
  20. i called my gyno she’s out till wednesday however i find it so odd that it’s happened only twice in a year exactly one july to the other and no symptoms or anything in between which makes me think that it’s nothing too serious or these symptoms would be continuous - both times i have menstrual symptoms
  21. i’m having that issue plus all the other symptoms of getting your period and oddly enough last year july 4 i got some pink discharge that went away after a few days and now this month i had the same menstrual period symptoms and as the symptoms are letting up i see brown stringy discharge - nothing from last year not one issue - it’s crazy that this is hap...
  22. cheat days are just like going back to day 1 - you’re destroying your villi and it can cause major things / there are great gluten-free options in the pizza world too
  23. oh yes it’s very painful the eye lid skin is so sensitive -im just so annoyed that i have been so careful- but i was told by others on this wonderful site that i could have gotten it from eggs since they do feed wheat to chickens - i don’t really eat eggs - in any case i feel better that others have experienced similar things and i’m not the only one
