  1. Good evening everyone, Its been a while since I’ve posted but need some expert advice if possible, I’m almost one year in on gluten-free living and to be honest the first few months felt amazing.... however as time has gone on I’m struggling with going to the toilet and when I do I don’t stop, is this my body still adjusting to the diet, I’m definit...
  2. Thank you for replying, I’m currently waiting for my bone scan and dietitian appointment, they are in a couple of weeks. Everything was increased on my biopsy results, I would like my marsh scale confirmed and a full nutrient test as well. I’ll ask about those, I suppose they will just go over the damage i have and give me a stern talking to about not...
  3. Hi, I’m after some advice so obviously this is the best place I got my official diagnosis around a month ago, since then I have (I think) been gluten free completely, I feel amazing right now 😊 and I had no obvious symptoms in the first place but I must of without knowing. Anyway my doctors referred me back to the specialist clinic, I have my a...
  4. Thank you for the brilliant information, I’m in the uk so very lucky that I’ll now be under the umbrella for this now. I know covid has taken its toll on our nhs but so far so good, I’m just waiting for my appointments to come through which is frustrating as I have zero patience. I’m definitely going to be aware of any symptoms that might clear up, I’m...
  5. That’s heartening that it can be reversed, I’m guessing I’ll probably have it to be honest. once I see my dietitian I’ll take and do anything I have to, I want to have my yearly endoscopy and hopefully see some improvement. thank you for your input, sounds like we could be celiac twins 😊
  6. Wow that’s exactly what was said to me, like you I was carrying on with my life. As long as I could keep my 20k steps up a day I figured it was just the way I was. just one more question if that’s ok, did you have a bone scan and was it ok, doctor immediately put me on calcium and vitamin d, 4 a day, not quite sure how I’ll be absorbing that or is it...
  7. Wow, that’s so interesting, thanks for your reply, without doubt I’ve had it for years, it only got picked up by one very keen doctor this year, I know I wasn’t presenting classic symptoms but one doctor told me to take 12 iron tablets a day, surely he should of thought there’s an absorption problem, I’m a bit salty about it to be honest but very thankful ...
  8. Hi , just wondering if anyone can shed some light for me about my marsh scale, I had my lab report back and it was positive, I spoke to my doctors but he didn’t know what my level was...... I really want to know so I know where I’m at for healing etc, would it be on my lab report or will my dietitian know. It says “ large areas of total flattening of vi...
  9. Ahh you definitely are, I’m sort of getting my head around it all now but very disappointed I can’t have my all time favourite crisps anymore 🙁 I’ll move to the other forum now I’m positive, no doubt we will be meeting there x
  10. Ahh thanks Christiana, that’s a whole load of amazing information for me , I’ve downloaded the checker and had an hour of fun scanning my food cupboard. Doctor called and confirmed it, he’s done everything you said they would and put me on extra calcium and vitamin d, also he’s referred me back to the gastro department to be under their care from now on....
  11. Hi, just an update on my celiac journey...... I picked up my results today and I am celiac, bit of a shock considering I have no symptoms, I have large areas of complete flattening of villi and lots of other areas that are damaged but not flattened, doctor is calling me to discuss so I’ll keep you posted, thanks everyone for your time and information a...
  12. Good evening 😊 thank you so much for everyone that has given me so much advice and time to reply to me..... just an update, I had my endoscopy today, it went down my throat not through my nose, not sure why but I was ok with that, I have to say after being so nervous it wasn’t anywhere near as bad as I thought it would be 😊 I feel fine just a bit bloated...
  13. Thanks again Christina for all your knowledge. I’ll let you know what it’s like, on the face of it, it does look like an easier procedure to have, I’m hoping it’s true 😊 I’m such a baby, I’ve had 2 c sections but this to me is an entirely more scary thing to have .
  14. Thank you so much for the information, I’m having a really hard time in thinking I am celiac, I’ve just looked at my original bloods taken in March and my endoymysial antibodies were normal but my serum endoymysium antibodies were positive, surely both would be positive if I was celiac. Oh and also I’ve had an enormous amount of paperwork and seems I am ...
  15. That’s alot of very useful information, thank you very much for taking the time to pass it on. I suppose I’ll know when I know and in the meantime I’ll try not to overthink it. I guess if I had symptoms I absolutely wouldn’t mind going but I’m worried as I have no symptoms what might of caused me to be positive or highly suggestive of celiac, I’m thinkin...
  16. Ahh that’s good to know, I’ll be extra careful although I work in retail/pharmacy so I’ll try my best 😊 I have another question..... I’ve been looking on here and alot of people are waiting for the biopsy results, do you think I’ll get an indication after the appointment or will they just send me on my way and also do you think my other half will be...
  17. Ahh thank you, I will definitely update 😊 haha funnily enough I went food shopping tonight and brought some bits that I absolutely love, I’m going to stuff my face with naughty food for the next 10 days.... just incase I can’t eat them again. I lingered on the gluten free area but thought to myself “ not yet “ 😀 I’m actually amazed that I got an appointm...
  18. good evening all, just thought I’ll give you all an update, I finally have my endoscopy booked for next week, I’m really nervous as still eating gluten with no symptoms, I’m still trying to find out if my positive blood work could mean something else, anyways I’ll update once I have the results, thanks for all the advice so far xx
  19. That’s a really interesting read, thank you for posting it. I feel in limbo right now as haven’t heard anything at all and still eating normally, I’m not expecting to hear for a while, I’ll keep you posted of the journey thank you for all the help this site has given me. It’s been amazing
  20. Thanks Scott.... I’ve spoken to my mum and she recommended I get a genetic test, don’t think there’s any point wasting money on one for me now but I’m definitely going to try and find one for her because out of anyone she is the one who I would of said is celiac..... it’s funny because she said she only started having problems in her 50s , I’m still going...
  21. Wow, thank you both for all of that information 😊 mmm I wonder if they will bother as both are positive, I can’t lie I feel like I’m a bit of a fraud As I have no symptoms that would suggest celiac at all..... apart from my bloods I suppose. I’m putting the jigsaw together slowly, my mum is almost completely gluten-free as she suffers terribly with foods an...

  23. Thanks Scott, I really appreciate you replying to me..... I’m a bit out of my depth with this. i do have a couple more questions if possible please...... could those test results mean something else is wrong and what would the usual steps taken when my appointment comes through with the specialist clinic. oh and one more.... I’m freaking out about the...
  24. Thank you for replying. I have my blood results so here goes..... my anti tissue antibody was 4.26, the normal range is 0.8 -4.00, so only over a tiny bit. They then tested my serum endomysium antibodies, this said positive and the interpretation on the results says “highly suggestive of celiac disease “ i don’t have the crippling symptoms that most ...
  25. Good evening...... I’m new here so bear with me 😊 I am historically anemic and went to my doctors for a blood test recently, to my surprise my doctor sent my blood to be tested for celiac, I have no obvious symptoms, luckily, however to my surprise my tga were just a bit above average, I suppose as they were abnormal they went on to test the next step...
