  1. Yep, this topic of some Celiac's being able to drink "some" macro brews has been discussed ad nauseam. I, for one can drink some American light beers without any problem. I've discussed this elsewhere in this forum. No elevated gluten enyzmes with blood draws or change in intestinal MARSH score after edoscopic biopsy. My Gastroenterologist and I have discussed...
  2. Just one item I wanted to add to the conversation here (apologies if it's been mentioned) is the "Marsh Score" from the intestinal biopsy. Which is a grading system used to define the level of injury to the villi that lines the intestinal wall. It gives the patient valuable insight on how far the damage has progressed. https://surgpathcriteria.stanford...
  3. As someone who has celiac disease and has had H Pylori and can sympathize. I actually was diagnosed with H Pylori about 10 years after my military service. This is key in my situation due to some of the regions of the world where I was deployed did not have very good sanitation ( food and water). In my case I was given the standard Triple Antibiotic Therapy...
  4. Thanks for the reply Scott. As you know dining out is certainly the greatest challenge for us. I have tried the elimination diet, but had little if any success. Something interesting that my Gastroenterologist told me (since my above post) is that no two celiac patients are exactly alike . In his opinion each one has their own unique "quirks" and symptoms...
  5. Ginger, I too have problems with gas. Especially gas that comes up my esophagus and feels like terrible chest pain. I've too tried the OTC enzymes for gas with little success. Something I've found that I've found that is helpful is a natural treatment. A little on the pricey side and gluten-free of course. https://www.heatherstummycare.com/p/suplmts...
  6. Hello All, Just checking in to see if anyone has the same on going symptoms as myself. I was diagnosed in 2016 in my late 50s via Endoscopy/Blood Work and also through genetic testing. My only symptom was/is reflux that did not respond to stepwise treatment (diet, antacids, H-2 Blockers, and PPIs). My only finding on subsequent scopes were slight gastritis...
  7. FYI, I was diagnosed in 2016 due to my GERD, in which nothing helped. Reflux was my only symptom. It was " heartburn from hell". As if I had drank bleach. It was my GI doc fresh out of residency who had a six year old daughter who was celiac and he decided to test me. I do still take ppi's at the behest of my doctor which keeps it under control and maintain...
  8. Hello and welcome to our "Brave New World". If I can make it , anyone can.
  9. A little late to the party, so to speak. My situation : I was diagnosed back in 2016 with Celiac ( Endoscopy/Biopsy, and Blood Draw). I have adhered to a gluten-free diet as best as possible, as I have been in healthcare my entire life, I take my health seriously as I did my my Celiac condition. In speaking with a Gastroenterologist, he related that most...
