  1. I do see that Bob's has a dedicated gluten free facility, but I'm guessing there'd still be the CC issue in the field. I do see that they do some in-house testing, which would be a good thing. Honestly, though, I think I'm going to hold off of re-intruducing grains for a bit...and grow some myself next year; no time like the present to learn! 😉 That an...
  2. I'm trying to track down a safe source of buckwheat groats - I understand they're easily CC'd in the field, as with all grains/pseudograins - and stumbled upon a garlic farm that uses buckwheat as a cover crop, and harvests and sells it as well. This seemed promising, so I contacted them to find out how it is handled, and this was their response: "Thanks...
  3. Thanks, Scott and captaincrab55! Thus far, hypthesis verified. More data would be nice...anyone else care to weigh in? I seem to react to lots of things: rice, dairy, polyols and fructans, currently testing eggs with mixed results. I'm a week shy of 39 (yes, for the first time), and have had many symptoms resolve that I've had since my early teens...
  4. Thanks! Yes, the quantity does not matter, so a small sip seems prudent. As it stands now, I'll probably keep communing from the chalice. I started noticing a pattern of having some trouble Sunday evenings or Mondays, so it's possible it's giving me trouble. I'm wondering, though, if anyone out there is certain that they have been glutened by...
  5. I'm curious. Is there a correlation between how long someone goes undiagnosed with celiac disease, and how many other food intolerances - like dairy, soy, nuts, etc. - that they end up with? It seems like it would make sense that the longer you're unknowingly damaging your intestines by eating gluten, the more problems you'd have with other foods...
  6. I am Lutheran, and take communion every week at church. I have read lots of discussions on here about communion wafers, and I'm not asking about that, but what I'm wondering about is drinking from the common cup. If the pastor does not break the bread over the cup, the wafers are not dipped into it, and there are only a few people who, having just eaten...
  7. Thanks for your response; that's kind of what I was leaning towards. I have two dosage sizes, and one says, "gluten free" on it (not certified, just their own logo), but the other doesn't. I'm almost done with this bottle, so probably I'll start looking at other options.
  8. I am going through my various supplements, and have contacted several companies for more clairification. This is the response I got today from Life Extension (I use their melatonin). It sounds reasonable, but I'm not sure. The fact that they are processed on the same equipment gives me pause. What do you think? Thank you for your recent communication...
  9. My son just recently got tested for celiac disease - he's 12, but has dropped down to the 5th percentile for weight and has gotten frequent canker sores in his mouth for years, and the last few months has been getting little itchy rash-like patches on his arms, face, etc I don't have an official diagnosis (long story, and seeing how gluten affects me...
  10. Thanks for the replies! When the colonoscopy was ordered, celiac wasn't even on anyone's radar (mine included.) All of my problems were centered in the lower part of the digestive tract, so it made sense at the time. And I'll definitely look into the B12! I started taking a better quality multi than I had been, and it has some in it - what kind of...
  11. Hi everyone! I'm not sure if what I'm dealing with is celiac or not, but it seems very likely. I have had digestive issues for many, many years (constipation, pain, bloating, such that I've resorted to only wearing stretchy skirts as any pressure on my abdomen is uncomfortable.) Things got worse about 5-6 months ago, such that I finally decided to...
