  1. It was years before I found a Gastroenterologist that finally diagnosed me with Celiac’s; I suffered with diarrhea and vomiting, also had several patches of psoriasis…all blood work came back negative. So this new gastroenterologist sat and listened and asked me many questions before coming up with a plan. The first plan was an endoscopy, took a biopsy and...
  2. I have tried so many brands of gluten-free bread, Canyon Bake is good, but the thing I don’t like about any of the gluten-free breads available is that when you toast them (the only way to eat them) they all have a strange smell which makes it hard for me to eat with the exception of the brand called Schar. This brand is really good (also needs to be t...
  3. I too have been searching for a great gluten free bread. The best one so far is Canyon Bakehouse and Schaefer, Artisan Baker White Bread, but even then bot must be toasted in order for it to be good. I have not found one yet that taste good right out of the package for a sandwich. After researching I’m thinking of finding a good recipe and baking my o...
  4. I have a question for my longtime Celiac people….if by chance you go out to dinner at a restaurant and you’re as careful as possible, but somewhere along the line there was cross contamination; how soon do you get sick or have effects from it? Is it possible for it to hit you the next day?
  5. I was diagnosed with Celiacs a year ago this August. I was so sick for years of not being diagnosed or being misdiagnosed…so of course I’ve done everything that I need to do to stay gluten-free. For months we have not gone out to eat…I stay home and make my own meals (have gotten many great recipes from “Iowa Girl Eats”). But recently I’ve eaten out a...
  6. I’m 64, have suffered with similar symptoms along with vomiting and diarrhea for years… had blood test done and it came back negative for Celiacs; I was just diagnosed in August of this year after going to a new Gastroenterologist that asked many questions that my previous doc never took the time to ask; he had a plan to do three different things and the...
  7. Corn Chex, Rice Chex, Rice Krispies, I also found a Blueberry Rice Chex, Cheerios (plain, strawberry and blueberry flavored). I haven’t looked for hot cereals yet. Oatmeal and MaltOMeal were always my favorites…I just haven’t tried anything with Oats yet…even gluten free.
  8. Fairly new to all this, so my question is how do the rest of you do with traveling…my next travels will be via an automobile. Visiting family in Nebraska (grain country), so the options when stopping to eat are very minimal. I’m a little nervous and worried also about when we get to our destination. We will be staying with family and I hate the thought of ...
  9. I feel your pain (literally)…although I was not taking that particular brand. I was using a generic brand from Walmart and being very careful what I was eating and I was still feeling bad with all those same symptoms that you have experienced. I finally realized that that was my problem so I stopped taking them, but it took a few days before I finally s...
  10. If you have a Sam’s Club near you, they have Flonase and their own Member’s Mark brand that is much cheaper.
