Nope the Dave is NOT gluten free. He must go through the decontamination chamber whenever he visits.
Well that that DEFINATELY takes him out of the running for "town hottie" No gluten eaters can be my poster boy.

Dave appears to know Rachel but I am unclear about how?
I have also been wondering the same thing!! Thanks for asking. I thought maybe he was just the town hunk that the girls swoon over Seems that all the girls on here really LOVE when he shows up online. They all rush to their computers........ha Is the Dave gluten free?

I just got done with the most evil thing.........
1 bottled frap (caramel in my case)
few scoops of icecream
Mix until no icecream chunks left..........it makes a milkshake type thing. Sort of like the expensive Dairy Queen Moolattes..........OMG soooo yummy!! I think this is going to be a new treat for me

We must have read that in the same place... I also just read that. And, felt happy for 2 seconds until I saw the words "Peanut Butter" -- and then I got upset. Since, it's a peanut butter whoopie pie. =( For someone who can't eat peanuts, gluten free or not... it "ain't no treat."
=(
Feelin' a bit let down.....
That does totally stink. I'm a peanutbutteraholic.......so it's good for me, bad for you Maybe if it is successful they will come out with some other varieties?!?!

Guess what was in my yard this morning???
I was out watering my pepper plants and I saw this brown thing scurry. I was like OMG a RAT!!!!!!! So I'm trying to check it out cause it's quite near my house and I do NOT want it going into my house.
I get a little closer and low and behold it's a baby bunny It was soooo adorable. It was small. About this time here comes my bratty cat......so he got sprayed with the hose so that he wouldn't eat the baby bunny Made him run the other direction while I shooed the baby bunny in the opposite way.
I went to check on him later........he was hiding in a wood pile. I'm thinking he probably lives there. So I have the cutest baby bunny ever living in my yard.

I just read on another forum about this mysterious gluten-free treat. Here is what they have to say :
The Starbucks in Charleston, SC are now selling a peanut butter gluten free whoppie pie! It is awesome. I still have not seen anything posted on their website about it though.***********************************************************************************
I called Starbucks Corporate Public Relations and inquired about the peanut butter whoopie pies. A few days later the the same person called me back and told me that their whoopie pies were indeed gluten-free. The person advised me that the main ingredient in the cookie part was rice flour. This individual seem very knowledgable of gluten and said that they get a lot of inquires concerning gluten.
***********************************************************************************
Ok those are the highlights of the conversations...............anyways...it's a little more info than we had

Yea, but we were on vacation when I bought them ... money doesn't count when it's spent on vacation!!!
If I spent $150 on jeans there wouldn't BE a vacation...........

Well, I can make so many great and creative foods, but my cooking ability stops short at playdough. I cannot get a good batch of gluten free playdough! I have tried so many recipes and they all flop I think it must be something in my method?
So, someone who makes a great gluten free playdough...please walk me through it! I will be supplying my daughter's class with playdough all year and I need to figure this out by Tuesday!
LOL
I made 6 batches tonight. Three were too goey and sticky and one is almost brittle and crumbly. The other two are just so so. The salt didn't disolve (is it supposed to?)
I need a rescue remedy!
LOL
Buy it instead! It's kinda pricey, but I have been told that it is well worth the money.

Having a bit of a "melt down" as Dingo describes it... all this time I've been thinking I'm getting cced within my house, cuz the kids are here and yadda yadda... been having much pain... and this morning black... yep black you know what... so that means there's bleeding.
Then my neighbor asked if we got the water notice... WHAT?... what water notice?... this notice, which I NEVER saw was delivered to my whole area... says they've found coliform bacteria... it says no need to boil, should be okay.... except... EXCEPT... for young children, the elderly and people with HEALTH PROBLEMS and these people should contact their doctor... this notice was sent out 3 days ago.
Left a message at my doctors office... they are closed right now... so I won't hear from them until tomorrow.
Holey cow!! That is disturbing that they would say "don't worry it's only bacteria" BLEH!!
I hope you get some answers soon. Get some rest.

I am wondering what everyone else does about this. I LOVED eating fettuccini alfredo before being diagnosed, and i know that most restaurants use flour in their recipes. Does anyone have a good recipe for a creamy white sauce that's gluten-free? And how have you used it? Thanks all!
I just buy classico alfredo sauce. All of their red and white sauces are gluten-free. It is yummy!! I usually add a bunch of mushrooms to the sauce mmmmmmm

It needs to be the Delimex Shredded Chicken In Corn Tortillas (the beef has wheat added to it)
Beef in the corn is fine......beef in the flour tortilla is not. At least last time I checked/bought delimex.

I am going to get my ironing done..even if I hate to iron. love to all) evie
Iron..........what's an iron? I bought mine several years ago. I have maybe used it 8 times?!?!

...what about Ice Capades, Stars On Ice, the Ice Skating shows??
When I was little I got to go to the Ice Capades about every year. I LOVED them I got to see Smurfs on ice, snow white on ice (I do believe that was probably my favorite) and tons of others. I always got to get the program book as a souvineer. I do believe they are all still at my parents house Shhh dont' tell mom
Also LOVE the circus. I would also get to go to the Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus about every year. It's coming to the area around my b-day this year.......sure wish somebody would take me! ha
Once, at the circus, I even got to be in the clown parade..........talk about a fun time!!
I loved to go roller skating with all my friends, that was the cool thing to do in the late 70s, early 80s, go to Skate City and go around and round in a circle while Bonnie TYler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart" blared on the loud speakerGood times!!!
Sounds like that would be one of those songs that would have an announcement of "COUPLES SKATE" before it

Somebody on the board works there, so do they know if it's true for all the restaurants? I am supposed tog o there with my mom this weekend
I think it's Lauren that works there..........maybe she has the scoop

Overall on this post, one thing to note - it's very difficult to determine if a product really really has a gluten contamination problem or not. A lot of these companies many people don't have problems with - which leads me to wonder if there's a secondary issue that some people experience trouble with. But, it also leads to the most important bit of advice for anyone with a dietary issue - if it bothers YOU, regardless of how others react, listen to your body and avoid it.
THANK YOU for saying that. ..............I have been thinking that the whole time reading this thread. I just wasn't sure how to word it. You did it very nicely So I'll just say agreed and ditto!!

I'm currently watching the Price is Right.
It has inspired me. Rachelville needs a field trip. I think we should go to the Price is Right.
Everybody buys/makes a celiac t-shirt. Wear them to the show. We create awareness. We have a blast.
Maybe somebody would even get on and bob would ask what celiac is??
I'm feeling a little verclempt.......here's a topic......rachelville on the price is right.......ok discuss.....

I also sub in bob's red mill white rice flour. I don't have the $ to spend to special order flours like that. I love how things turn out with the white rice.

Oh my...
I wake up and Celia is...well, Celia! (Beautiful picture, by the way) And Armetta is mouse, and now she's Celia's bird.
Is there anything else I missed????
A nickname of mouse.........with a bird for a picture. I do believe that the bird looks like it could eat a mouse......however not sure that emu's/ostriches do that. Hummm

Any F-R-I-E-N-D-S fans? The one where Chandler has the interview, and his future employer asks about his duties. Chandler explains how he almost cracked up in the interview because his new boss was asking about his "doodies"...ok I'm a freak...I know
HAH HA You said doodie

They still have their gluten-free menu online. That is odd that they would pull it from restaurants and not pull it online.
I know that I have had trouble at an outback having mis-printed menus. They had not marked items on the menu correctly. I called the manager the 1st time it happened. I called the owner the 2nd time it happened. They took care of the mistake. Possibly the restaurant just got a batch of the mis printed menus?? Just a thought.

Anyone Know How To Reheat Gluten-free Pasta?
in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Posted
Mine still gets a mushier texture. But it does not get hard. Here is what I do.
I put the sauce over the pasta and into a gladware container. When re-heating. I leave the lid on the container. This keeps the steam and moisture in the container. Helps to keep it from drying out. It works well for me. It isn't like FRESH pasta, but it's good enough for me.
