I think perhaps a lot of us did not realize how angry we all were with doctors. Unfortunately the first doctor on the board got jumped. Now, we are just trying to get him drunk and get him to dance on the table so I can get some pictures.
There used to be a very nice doctor on the board. She would post recipes. However, people attacked her also and she left. So not the first dr, just the first doctor that has stayed .

I finally heard back from them today and here is what they say
Dear Jessica,Thank you for contacting Dale and Thomas Popcorn.
All of our products are gluten free. Thank you bringing it to our attention that the Chocolate Chunk and Caramel is not labeled accordingly. That flavor is made from our Dales Caramel and the same chocolate used in all of other chocolate flavors, which are all gluten free. We will have this corrected accordingly.
Thank you and please feel free to contact us with any further questions you may have.

Stick to your guns and don't compromise your health!!! These folks are just going to have to get used to what you can and can not eat. You are in their family now!! If all else fails, take your own food. They may look at you funny the first couple of times, but they will get used to it. You really can't keep eating around their stuffing and risking all of the cross contamination like you currently are. That is just not a smart move. They shouldn't even be asking you to do this!! Geesh!
Soooooooo take your own plate and enjoy the company of the in-laws. It's safer.

God Bless Chipolte!!!! I finally got to eat there today and it was SOOOO yummy!! I am a huge fan now. I can't wait until I can go back again.

In Sunday's StL Post Dispatch the comics section carries a comic strip titled "Rhymes with Orange" by Hilary B. Price. I've never found the comic very funny to begin with, but Sunday's 3/26/06 strip was offensive to me. (My DH found it funny) It was titled "Today's Barnyard Blues" and shows a cat stating "I'm lactose intolerant", a horse saying "I'm gluten intolerant" and a squirrel saying "I'm allergic to nuts". For me and others dealing with dietary issues 24/7 because we HAVE to, I don't see the humor. Or am I over sensitive?
Any feedback?
Annette
Sounds pretty funny to me. Cats LOVE milk, horses LOVE grain, and squirrels LOVE nuts.......lol

Wow that sounds really good! I think I'm gonna try that. How much milk and cornstarch do you use?
Oh gosh, I don't really measure anything lol Milk, probably cup to two cups, depends on what I am making it for, and enough cornstarch to thicken to whatever consistency you want. I would start with a Tablespoon or two then see where that leaves you.

Ok this is kinda freaky you posted this because I meant to the other day, but I've been so busy this week I just kept forgetting. But I was wondering the same thing, especially since they sell it in our cafeteria at work and I always want to try it.
Great minds think alike ha
I'll post if I hear back from the company, maybe someone else has already asked them that question before and they can enlighten us I REALLY want to try this popcorn.

(wooo hoooo!! Finally made my 1,000 post)

I just bought organic cream of mushroom, chicken, and celery soup from health valley. it was spendy, 2.50 a can. I used the cream of chicken and mushroom already. It worked great. It uses corn an rice starch for thickeners. Thought I'd let you all know!
I have been making my own mushroom soup. Take a small can of mushrooms (stems and pieces work fine). I use my pampered chef food chopper and chop the mushrooms up to be very very fine. Dump the juice and the finely chopped mushrooms into a pan, add a little milk and some cornstarch to thicken. Cook until it is the right consistency for whatever I am making. It tastes very good and is cheap cheap to make!!

If you are a newbie. I would recommend getting the CSA Gluten Free Product Listing Guide. It really helped me out when I was first starting. It comes out yearly and costs 30.00. I know that seems like alot, but it really gives you piece of mind when you are first starting out.
You can find info on it here: Open Original Shared Link

Never tried it but it is actually co-owned by the Knicks GM / HOF'er Isiah Thomas. Guess he runs his popcorn business better than his basketball team.
The funny thing is based on the ingredients I can't tell why the two listed as not gluten-free are listed that way. Unless they are being extra careful with the carmel coloring and vinegar. I guess its better for a company to be conservative on these ingredients.
I actually emailed them asking the same question. So hopefully I'll hear something back before my free bag of popcorn arrives

I was just curious if anyone had tried Dale and Thomas Popcorn. The today show had a bit on about it this morning. If you go and tell them a popcorn horror story you can get a free bag of their popcorn to try. I went to their website and they have CLEARLY listed which of their popcorns are gluten free and which are not. Looks like an awesome company. Anyone had any experience with them?? Popcorn looks YUMMY!

I just saw a piece on the news about Texas and drinking. I guess they are really cracking down on public intoxication. So be VERY careful. On the news they were arresting people even if they had a designated driver. If they failed a field sobriety test in the bar, they were taken to jail!! I guess texas has a large fatality rate for drunk driving and they are trying to change that starting inside of the bars. They even arrested some bartenders for overserving some of the patrons. Wild stuff, so be careful.......and put a dollar in the strippers undies for me
-Jessica
Found a news article that is like the news piece I saw on tv. If nothing else, it's interesting.
AUSTIN, Texas - Get falling-down drunk in a Texas bar and it may cost more than a bruised backside. Try $500 or a few hours in jail.ADVERTISEMENT
The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission is sending undercover officers into bars to look for the exceedingly drunk, issuing citations or making arrests for public intoxication even if the patrons haven't left the building.
"Drinking is fine," said agency spokeswoman Carolyn Beck. "But when people drink too much, they become dangerous to themselves and other people."
The program is aimed at reducing drunken driving. According to Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Texas had 1,264 alcohol-related traffic fatalities in 2004, the most in the nation.
The crackdown is aimed not only at those who are drunk, but at the bars and bartenders who continue to serve them. So far, it has resulted in about 2,200 arrests or citations around the state.
B.J. Hassell, manager of victims services with MADD Texas State, which serves central Texas, said her organization supports the crackdown.
"Can you imagine if TABC had not stopped those people from leaving the bar, how many more drunk drivers we might have had on the road?" Hassell said.
The most recent sting was March 10, when agents infiltrated more than 30 bars in the Dallas suburb of Irving, arresting or citing dozens of people.
Greg Turnbow, sipping a beer in a downtown bar during happy hour Thursday, was on a business trip from Nashville, Tenn. He said the Texas policy surprised him.
"This almost seems like entrapment," he said. "If somebody's in a bar causing trouble, they should be arrested." But the crackdown struck him as "just too much."
In Texas, the blood alcohol limit for drunken driving is .08 percent. But the law also defines public intoxication as "not having the normal use of mental or physical faculties" because of alcohol or other drugs.
Public intoxication is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $500. An offender can be cited or arrested. Many jails require that someone arrested be detained for at least four to 12 hours.
Bar patrons may be approached if an officer spots them behaving erratically, such as having difficulty walking or standing. The officer will perform a field sobriety test similar to one for drunken drivers. A patron may also be asked to take a breath test, although it is not required, Beck said.
Most people who take the breath test have a blood alcohol level of .17 or higher, she said. "These people who are being arrested are really drunk," she said. "We're not going up to random people."
And just having a designated driver isn't an excuse to get knee-wobbling drunk.
Beck cited a recent case in El Paso where a man staggered into traffic and was killed, and a student on spring break at South Padre Island who tried to jump into a hotel pool from a second-floor window. He missed and died.
Beck acknowledged many people may be surprised to learn they can be arrested for being drunk in a bar.
"We are trying to get the message out that we want bars to sell responsibly and consumers to consume responsibly," she said.

Hmmm, Cheetos contain artificial flavor. I wonder if that could be the culprit. As for the seeds...can't find anywhere what they coat them with. Another mystery to solve!
Cheetos are fine.

Always keep in mind that sometimes companies change the shape of their candy for holidays, these shapes are not guaranteed to be the same ingredients as usual. So always be a label reader. I know that sometimes reeses has different small shaped things and they sometimes contain wheat. Large reeses cups are safe, the large eggs shapes are fine, but there are sometimes some small things that are not. Just use caution Hoppy Easter

Actually I believe on the website they say that they are turkey
-Jessica
Yay!! Belle loves the fish sticks! I am guessing the corn dogs are beef? I just eat turkey and chicken! -
They now even have gluten-free corn dog bites. They sound good!! I'm excited, but I haven't found them in the stores yet.
I like the fish sticks more than the chicken nuggets. They both seem a little dry to me, but better than nothing on nights when you don't want to cook.

I finally made these this morning. I only had one banana and didn't add as much chocolate chips as the recipe called for, added extra peanut butter. They turned out pretty good. Thanks for the recipe.
