  1. I wonder if this will be offered in the buffet area as well. Perhaps they’ll just do a better job of labeling gluten-free dishes. They’ve been quite poor in doing this in the past. I’ve noticed most other cruise lines have been way ahead of Carnival ships in dealing with gluten-free passengers in the past. I’d also recommend doing as their competitors do and ...
  2. I appreciate the feedback. Any beers you could recommend would be fantastic. Thanks
  3. Yes if it’s not labeled gluten free I don’t drink it as I don’t need to create a problem. Any input on beers labeled gluten removed or gluten free beers in Europe would be appreciated. Thanks.
  4. I’m going to Europe in a few months. How do they remove gluten. I got a buddy who is celiac that drinks michelob light and no problems
  5. I stick with either Redbridge or Glutenberg when I want a beer. I’m Celiac and have never had an issue. Glutenberg offers four different types including an IPA. I just wish they were more widely available.
  6. I agree with Catherine. I was diagnosed with Celiac quickly thanks to a sharp GI doctor. She simply did biopsies In stomach and small intestines immediately. I tested positive for severe Celiac. I had zero gastric symptoms but would collapse and remain unconscious for five minutes or so. Anyway wheat free now for five years and zero problems. Read all labels...
  7. Well I was diagnosed with celiac via multiple biopsies about four years ago. I’ve had two reactions both rendering me unconscious, just suddenly dropping. The GI doctor, a really sharp lady diagnosed quickly but she was surprised. I have no problem living gluten-free in fact many foods made with gluten-free flours I find more flavorful. I would like a cold b...
  8. I agree with the cautionary comments. I was at a local brewery, Cabarrus Brewery in Concord, NC. They say they produce a gluten free beer brewed with barley that is treated with an enzyme then filtered that makes gluten well below 20 ppm which I believe is the standard. I did not taste but am curious. Anyone knowing of this beer or the process please comment...
  9. I was diagnosed with Celiac about four years ago. This website has been a necessity for me. Really is easy to adjust to gluten free.
  10. My Celiac was diagnosed about four years ago. I was quite fortunate and biopsies were done within a few weeks of me fainting. My biopsy showed celiac in the moderate to severe range. The only symptom was suddenly fainting and being out about five minutes. Then I felt fine. The GI doctor felt this had come about fairly recently and now it is properly managed...
  11. Indeed I was fortunate. I’ve always been reasonably healthy with minimal medical issues. I was put through the usual drill of scans, bloodwork, neurological tests and everything was great except a pseudo cyst was discovered on my pancreas. They suggested seeing the GI Dr and she zeroed right in on this. The cyst resolved itself on it’s own and the biopsies det...
  12. The only thing I encounter from a gluten reaction is sudden fainting and displaying the symptoms of a stroke for a few minutes. Then I’m fine. This has happened to me twice. I was quickly diagnosed by a sharp GI doctor who took biopsies and the results showed moderate to severe celiac. I’ve had no problem sticking to a wheat and associated substances die...
  13. This is a great site for those of us with celiac. I have no digestive issues it simply makes me faint and the two times it happened I’ve been told my symptoms are similar to someone having a stroke. Five minutes later I’m fine. I was fortunate to have a really sharp GI doctor who did biopsy immediately and found I had moderate to severe celiac. No problems at ...
