  1. Hamburger gravy with plenty of chopped onions and celery over mashed potatoes. Really good on a cold day!
  2. I bought some other brand of sloppy Joe stuff that was gluten-free. I can't remember where I bought it. We used it a while ago. We are not big sloppy Joe eaters. But when I made them as a kid there was no such thing as Manwich. I just used canned tomato sauce and added a few things. There are plenty of recipes on the Internet. I do remember buying...
  3. Tonight's dinner was not very exciting. We had some frozen stuffed baked potatoes. They were really lacking in flavor! Also some bacon that needs to be used up and salad. The salad was the best part. That's kind of sad.
  4. Turkey breast, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans.
  5. No cooking here. I am worn out and it was warm here. Not hot but uncomfortable. For daughter there was leftover Mexican rice with veggies and chicken and some good Mexican cheese sprinkled over. Also corn tortillas and black olives. I just had bean tacos with cheese and olives. Should have had veggies, I know. But I didn't.
  6. I am trying to use up all the old food. I had some little pearl potatoes that were fine the last time I checked but they had gone moldy! And most of the bag of russets I had were also bad. But I did find two that could be salvaged. I peeled them, cut in bite sized chunks, then boiled them in some chicken broth. As the broth was about to dry up, I added...
  7. I chopped up an onion, a red bell pepper and a green bell pepper. Cooked those in a bit of olive oil with some cubes of potato. Then added some cooked, crumbled sausage. I'm not a super big fan of sausage but daughter loved it! Also had some gluten-free pumpkin and millet bread from the health food store. It was over $7 a loaf. I could live without...
  8. Well this doesn't make me happy. I have a coupon I was going to use for these. Daughter is allergic to wheat so they would be out of the question if in fact there is wheat in them.
  9. Just curious if this med is available in the US? I could be wrong on this but I believe I was just reading that it can be used in the treatment of gastroparesis which I have. But that the FDA is looking into it and at present it is not available here. Or maybe I am confusing it with another med?
  10. Leftovers here. The other night I baked chicken breasts with a little Herbamare, freeze dried onions and gluten-free mushroom gravy. Served with white rice and green beans. I didn't make enough chicken. There was a lot of gravy left and some rice. I mixed in some canned chicken. Daughter will be eating that. I'm going to have leftover baked beans...
  11. I'm not cooking tonight. I made a Teff wrap for daughter with a little margarine, lettuce and turkey. She is also having baby carrots and apple slices. Not sure what I'll have. Maybe a can of chili.
  12. I'm not the one with the gluten issues. But I don't usually eat a big breakfast. Today I had cottage cheese and toast. Sometimes I had cereal. Yesterday I had an upset stomach so just plain rice. Sometimes I have polenta with tomato sauce. Daughter is the one with gluten issues. She doesn't much like breakfast. Lately she has been eating apples...
  13. Toasted cheese sandwiches. Mine had tomato. Ceaser salad kit from Costco. Croutons went in the trash and were replaced with gluten-free ones. Added black olives. Also apple crisp.
  14. I didn't cook tonight. Daughter and husband had leftover pizza. Husband had some prepared soup from Central Market. We all had salad bar. I had a few Tostitos Scoops with Queso dip. Daughter made Lidia Bastianich's Baked Apples with three sauces. Soooo good! I helped her and we failed to put the butter in the apples but they were sooo rich I don't...
  15. I didn't cook. I had some pre-cooked steak pieces that I got from Costco. Was going to have that but they seemed tough to digest. So I didn't. Daughter tried them and hated them. I had her put the rest of the bag in the freezer. Hopefully husband will eat them. I just had some cottage cheese. We also had mashed potatoes (bought at Costco) and some...
  16. Disappointing meal tonight. Hormel's canned tamales topped with white onion, green pepper, a can of tiny diced tomatoes and a bit of chili powder. Baked through then topped with Mexican cheese and black olives. Oh it tasted just fine! The problem was that the tamales just seemed to have disappeared. Daughter said she had mainly vegetables. And I had...
  17. Was going to do taco salads tonight. Actually daughter did have that but I did not. I had a problem on Sunday. Had ordered pizzas from Garlic Jim's. Had thought I had ordered extra red sauce on the gluten-free one but accidentally ordered Ranch sauce which I can't have because I have a severe egg allergy. Daughter liked the pizza. Ate it on Sunday...
  18. We had leftovers tonight. Husband had peppers with onions and sausage on a Hoagie roll (not gluten-free) and a piece of lemon chicken. Daughter had the rest of the lemon chicken and some white rice. No veg, I know but she had a platter of salad and fruit for lunch, so I didn't push it. I had a meatloaf (mine is about half meat and half veg) and some mashed...
  19. I buy those sometimes. They're very good!
  20. This came out very good! I did add a bit of Herbamare seasoning to the chicken after it was breaded because I felt like it wasn't enough seasoning. And when I make it again, I will have an extra lemon or two for topping. I had three lemons. They were small and not overly juicy. I used two of them for juicing. I had only enough slices to put one on each...
  21. This is the recipe but I haven't tried it yet so I don't know if it is good. http://www.dottysdiner.com/lemonchicken.html I will use sweet rice flour and omit the mint.
  22. I made gluten-free coffee cake for tomorrow and I will be making a sausage casserole to go with. Everyone is on their own for lunch. Probably sandwiches. For dinner, lemon chicken, plain white rice and green beans. Candy and cookies leftover from Christmas Eve if they want dessert.
  23. Tomorrow will be gluten-free pasta with red sauce. I will add a little ground beef that I have already cooked and put in the freezer. Have to have a quick meal before dance class.
