  1. thanks! good to know this. yes, I’m doing the challenge in order to get a celiac test.
  2. i didn’t use to consume a lot of gluten but when i did i experienced discomfort, sometimes a lot of it - i could easily have become sensitive to many other foods, having troublesome spasms. im in 4th week of gluten challenge and i rarely experience those symptoms… is it possible that my body ‘adapted’ to gluten? does this mean i cannot have celiac bc if i...
  3. im on gluten challenge and id like to know the following please: as im aware you need to eat at least 2 slices of bread amount of gluten for 6 weeks before being tested. this week, there was one day where i wasnt able to consume any gluten-containing food (im in my 3rd week of challenge). Does it mean those previous 3 weeks have been 'lost'? Or can i compensate...
  4. i spoke to my doctor and for diagnosis she suggested either doing celiac test, or if i cant do gluten challenge, to simply follow gluten-free diet; said that even if was diagnosed with celiac disease, i would still have to follow gluten-free diet. so im wondering whether having an evidence that i have celiac disease would change anything?
  5. if i cannot do the 4-6 week gluten challenge, is it possible to do the following: eliminate gluten for some time (1-2 months?), then eat gluten and get tested straightaway? wouldn't that increase antibodies if i do have celiac disease?
  6. thanks a lot!! yes, i will think about it and talk with my gp. not feeling that scared anymore ❤️
  7. "Doing a gluten challenge is like telling someone to continue hurting themselves until damage can be seen." - exactly!! thanks so much! as i know, for endoscopy you need to eat gluten for less period of time right? is it as accurate as (if not more) than blood test? I haven't been eating 2-white-bread-amount of gluten even in the past (when i wasn...
  8. thanks so much! i havent tested for celiac yet; and the idea of eating gluten for at least 6 weeks before the test scares me, bc that means i have to deliberately inflame/irritate my body, right? im not ready for all the stomach aches 😕 and would canned beans (not containing gluten) be counted as irritating?
  9. if you've consumed something containing gluten (and have experienced some reaction), is it possible that later (even next day), other foods which do NOT contain gluten, still upset your stomach?
  10. and also the reason why i got fixated on gluten is bc some foods which dont contain yeast do give discomfort. Ive first noticed headaches and dizziness when i drank a barley-coffee-drink; then my regular oats (the packaging of which says that it may contain wheat or barley) also gave me abdominal pain but when i switched to gluten-free oats, ive never experienced...
  11. thanks! yes, im definitely considering testing, BUT - i havent been eating a lot of gluten even before and when ive noticed repeating pattern of symptoms (about a week ago), i didnt eat gluten for the past 6 days or so (and i didnt have abdominal pain at all!). so i dont know what would be counted as 'enough' gluten for the test ? plus, how can...
  12. I am very new to the celiac world, haven't been diagnosed but I am suspecting gluten intolerance in general after considering my reactions to gluten. However, I'm wondering if anyone has different symptoms/reactions when exposed to different foods? e.g. I may experience abdominal pain after eating sourdough bread, but a headache (feeling of my head expanding...
