  1. Great news - it's my go-to antihistamine for ease-of-use. Thanks!
  2. Hello, I read Scott's article about all forms of Claritin being Gluten free, but want to make sure that includes the Claritin Reditabs. Anyone have any experience or knowledge with that particular version of Claritin? I have recently been told by my allergist that I need to take famotadine 2x daily, and Claritin or Zyrtec 2x daily. I was prescribed a...
  3. I also like the Gluten Free Dino Nuggets found at Walmart, and the McCain Smile fries (also found at Walmart). Sometimes, when the family is having a crap meal night like McDonald's, I will put a few of these Gluten Free Dino Nuggets and the smile fries in my separate Gluten Free Air Fryer - and I am able to enjoy a "fast food" style meal at home with them...
  4. I have recently found LaBrea Gluten Free White Bread at my local Krogers, and I absolutely love it. It is NOT certified gluten free, but, I have done my research and it seems to be that they have a dedicated machine and part of the facility they make this bread in. It is my favorite, hands down over Canyon, Schar, and Aldi gluten free. Added bonus for me...
  5. Hello! I personally do make sure toothpaste and any items I may ingest are gluten free. I have personally had good luck with Sensodyne Pronamel and Colgate toothpaste. I am not Vegetarian, but avoid Dairy as I am severely lactose and casein intolerant, so I feel your struggle to some extent. I have joined some Facebook Celiac and gluten free groups that...
  6. Hello! I was recently diagnosed in February via. Biopsy (EGD was done in January). During my follow-up with the Gastro in February, she stated she wanted to run a number of labs to ensure I wasn’t deficient. The nurse from the Gastro office called today to let me know all of my levels were good except Vitamin D, and that I should supplement that. I...
  7. Hello! I am newly diagnosed and also have a mixed househould with Hubby and kids eating gluten. I have not made my home entirely gluten free because I also have an EXTREMELY picky 8 year old. I have my own toaster, margarine, and a separate air fryer. Aside from that, I always wash down countertops before I prepare any foods. I keep my gluten...
  8. Very interesting Knitty. I will have to check into this:) I do not have Diabetes that I know of, but, my Grandfather died in his 70's from Adult-Onset Diabetes complications. I have always had low blood sugar episodes. Had a 5 hour fasting blood sugar test when I was 19 ish, and I just remember them cutting it off at hour 4 because my blood sugar was in the...
  9. Bill, your story sounds all too familiar to me! I have had multiple food allergies since I was 21 years old (I am 45 now). I was diagnosed with hEDS by a geneticist just this past November. I apparently had a Beighton Scale of 9/9 at 45 years old - and of course my Brother and his daughter also have hEDS. My Celiac diagnosis followed in late January of this...
  10. Oh no...I messed up. Those were for a different version. The one I'm looking at is actually: Active Ingredient: Omeprazole. Inactive Ingredients: Amino methacrylate copolymer, ascorbic acid, cetyl alcohol, colloidal silicon dioxide, crospovidone, ferric oxide, flavor, hypromellose, hypromellose phthalate, maize maltodextrin, mannitol, microcrystalline...
  11. Hi Scott! Can you tell me if any of these are gluten ingredients? It is from Rite Aid Omeprazole: benzyl alcohol, carmine, carnauba wax, FD&C blue #2/indigo carmine aluminum lake, flavor, hypromellose, hypromellose acetate succinate, lactose monohydrate, menthol, modified starch, monoethanolamine, polyethylene glycol 3350, sodium lauryl sulfate...
  12. Thank you. I did check the labeler and found that the generic of Protonix I was prescribed had lactose. The pharmacy had recommended I have the GI call in another prescription for a lactose free PPI. When I called, that is when they said " I wouldn't have a clue", so I just felt defeated and like I was getting the run around. I did research myself and found...
  13. Thank-you, I will look into this. The course of meds has been very rough for me, unfortunately. I called the GI office yesterday after being up the evening prior until 3:30 AM with so much tummy distress (I get up for work at 6:30 AM). I assume it was from the Lactose in the Protonix but can't be certain as it doesn't affect "most" people that way. I just...
  14. Hello! I can second what Scott has said. I am newly diagnosed at 45. I started having food allergy issues/testing at 21 years old. At that time, I had skin testing and some different blood draws. i was allergic to a host of environmental allergies, 35 food allergies (some low level at 1/2 but many like Corn, Soy, Potato, Tomato, Wheat, Pea, Peanut all...
  15. Thanks. I will call the GI office tomorrow and ask if they have a recommendation on a lactose free version. While the pharmacist was very helpful, she was also very busy and it took her 15 minutes to even look at the 3 meds they prescribed to find the active/inactive ingredients for me. I felt bad to make her go on a goose chase to try to find me a lactose...
