  1. The blood serum antibodies can be tricky. My niece has celiac disease and her IGG antibodies have always been normal, but her IgA antibodies have been high. I would suggest getting a GI map stool test and make sure it tests for anti-gliadin antibodies. I have asymptomatic celiac disease, which was discovered using blood serum antibodies. My son has always...
  2. There are more blood tests they can run. Some people believe that some of your symptoms are more likely seen with positive results to IGG testing. You may need to find a Functional Medicine Doctor to order the labs. Check out Dr. Chris Kresser’s work. He has a podcast episode dedicated to gluten intolerance that is very informative. Also, you may want to l...
  3. You may be sensitive to other food chemicals like oxalates or lectins. Keep in mind that gluten is technically a lectin. Seeing how gluten causes inflammation and intestinal damage, it increases the likelihood of leaky gut and other food sensitivities. You may benefit from researching some of Sally K. Norton’s work on oxalates and Dr. Gundry’s work on lec...
  4. You’re not alone. My aunt and I both have Celiacs and get muscle spasms and twitches. I also get tingling and numbness and heart palpitations. However, I also suffered from oxalate overload, which has overlapping symptoms. Check out Sally K Norton’s website and the resources posted here about oxalates. It may be not be your issue, but it may also be of gre...
  5. You may be experiencing aches and pains associated with high dietary oxalates. Sounds crazy, but more common than you would think. Pelvic pain is a common issue with high oxalate consumption. My celiac symptoms showed up as peripheral neuropathy and in the course of my treatment, I determined that I had oxalate overload. My aunt had the same issue. It’s w...
  6. Do you experience any dizziness or vertigo-like symptoms? I was diagnosed in November and have done my best to stay gluten-free. I still have some neuropathy symptoms, including numbness/tingling w/pins and needles, muscle twitches/spasms, and dizziness/vertigo. My symptoms seem to fluctuate and come and go. Some days are great, others not so much. It’s h...
  7. You may be suffering from molecular mimicry, where your body mistakes rice or other grains for gluten. Certain proteins, like casein in milk, or those found in grains like rice and corn, look similar to gluten and your body treats them the same. I would look it up. Dr. Amy Meyers talks about it in her books.
