New and Seeking Help
Raquel2021 replied to toothdoc's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Welcome to the forum. Our household is mainly gluten free. I have one kid who also has issues with gluten so we have 2 people who are gluten free and 2 who are not. So we buy everything gluten free Except for gluten bread for our nonceliacs. I also send my non-celiac kid to school with gluten snack so that snacks can be eaten outside of the house and he... -

I also have celiac and hashimotos. Diagnosed with celiac in 2020. Hashimotos in 2022. The gluten free diet can help with Thyroid issues but it has not made Hashimotos go away for me.

Third chronic diet - new is Celiacs
Raquel2021 replied to Monette Bebow-Reinhard's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
If you have celiac disease please do not eat gluten again. This is gluten free for life -
Thank you. My vitamin D is 96 ng/ml. I just had it tested. I also don't have a gallbladder after the surgery my celiac symptoms really got 10 times worse. So you experience no gut pain? My celiac antibodies are normal but I am beginning to think my symptoms could be caused by the gluten free bread I eat everyday day or rice.

Thanks. This is very helpful. I am currently using Clubhouse which is under McCormick. They say their single spices only contain the spice it self and that gluten would be listed if it was an ingredient. I react to cumin, paprika and cinnamon

Hi there Every individual is unique even in the celiac community, so don't feel bad. We might even react to other foods as well. Corn, dairy soy and eggs.

Hi there Which spices do you use that are gluten free? Thank you

Yes but some of us can react to even those traces

I am also very sensitive. So it is possible you could be reacting to it. I thought malt vinegar was a NO no.

Hello all, I experienced horrendous pain on the left side of my abdomen for years before being diagnosed with celiac disease. Stabbing, sharp pain. Once I adopted the gluten-free diet my pain improved but it has never completely gone away. I suspect I had this disease for at least a decade before diagnosis as my Dr was clueless. My question for you...

My Son’s celiac test result
Raquel2021 replied to Irishgirl5's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Just my 2 cents a lot of the iron supplements contain gluten. Do some research and try to find one that works. It has been very tricky for me to find one that does not causes pain since our guts are so damaged -
I think what I meant to say by remission is: does having normal antibodies should equal no symptoms? My vitamin D levels is 96 just had it checked. Normal is above 70 or something like that. I just had a visit with a neurologist who advised I don't have ms and my neurological symptoms are from being celiac

One of my kids had issues for years. He was also losing weight eventhough he ate a ton of food. Once I was diagnosed and put him on the gluten free diet and he I'd now thriving. All issues resolved. He is even getting better marks at school. His celiac test came back negative. So you never know. The pediatrician run a ton of tests all negative.
