  1. I am diagnosed celiac with IBS constipation although I was told IBS can change from constipation to diarrhea. I eat gluten free and FODMAP diet. I no longer need to take fiber or miralax except in extreme situations. I still suffer from some abdominal pain and going to bathroom at time but much better. Always try to stay hydrated.
  2. I was hospitalized twice focusing on colon issues with no change to symptoms when released. Found another doctor and basically exacerbated symptoms to get endoscopy. Moderate to severe damage. ThT was December. Still have problems. Doctor just put me on IBS-D meds but said lymphocytes found in stomach and most often associated with celiac. That is next step...
  3. I am relatively new to the celiac diagnosis but suffered gut issues since is was a teenager-I am 64. I find the whole idea of eliminating all the foods on the list to eliminate very depressing. I believe I am in stages of grieving food and diagnosis although it is a positive pain free path. I find I can eat no grains or dairy and introduce foods slowly....
  4. I am going to try it and see if it helps celiac and IBS symptoms.
  5. Sorry you aren’t feeling better. I agree with Scott on the withdrawal but also the time it take to rid your body of the gluten as well as the damage done to your small intestines. I am gluten free but have been tricked a couple of times because of my lack of due diligence on products. I have biopsy celiac and IBS. Trying to find some food that doesn’t s...
  6. Has anyone tried taking healthy Spirulina and Chlorella super foods as a way to increase nutrition and fight sypmtoms of fatigue, joint aches etc ? There are different companies but I am talking about pure algae and no heat treated process.
  7. I would agree because after my endoscopy results posted before I talked to doctor I stopped eating gluten. I had to “gluten up” before blood work for baseline. Biopsy was best way to know severity and best options for me moving forward.
  8. I agree! You have to do what works for you. Learning more about experience and studies enables you to choices. You try and try again! I agree about stress and the affect on your body. My biggest trigger is stress. Jus do what is best for you like everything else in life.
  9. Wow! Can’t believe you can eat gluten with no negative consequences. Saw my biopsy results and immediately stop gluten. Doctor told me to eat gluten for a week for blood test. Oh my goodness! 3 month later and I know within 1 day that exposed myself (honey nut cheerios) and I was sick for days. Brain fog, fatigue, diarrhea, stomach pains, etc. I agree my s...
  10. I have had symptoms my entire life beginning in high school. I was diagnosed by biopsy in Dec of 2022 and I just turned 64. I was hospitalized twice in October with no benefit. I pushed doctors until something new was tried and damage was visible. Lo and behold my life is beginning to change hopefully. Trying to convince my daughters to have gene test due...
  11. Thank you for posting these study results. I am 65 diagnosed in December of 2022. I am impatient that being gluten-free means I am healed. Your article reminds me this is a lifelong healing process and life change. I need to reframe and get to acceptance stage.
  12. Mindy, I was diagnosed with biopsy in December of 2022. I have IBS-C and hypothyroidism. I have been gluten free with 2-3 accidental gluten exposure. I feel like I am on a rollercoaster of good days and bad. I need FMLA for work. I reach out to gastroenterologist but I get no reply or a refill for nausea and cramping. I have a dietician that helps with...
