  1. It can take some people years to heal. The good news is that you will continue to feel better by not allowing gluten into your diet. Also get tested for other food allergies such as eggs, dairy, soy…. as many people with Celiac also have other food allergies which can make you feel lousy even though you are not consuming gluten.
  2. McDonald’s is not safe. Most fast food places aren’t. Chic-fi-let or Culver’s have gluten-free buns and they try to accommodate those with Celiac disease.

  4. Have you been tested for thyroid disease? Some of the symptoms you mentioned such as the weight gain and muscle weakness are what I experience when my Synthroid (hypothyroidism medication) needs to adjusted. Autoimmune diseases sometimes seem to multiply when you are diagnosed with one. Hope this helps.
  5. Best to see a G.I. Let them do the labs and endoscopy to confirm. That way you can be sure if you have it or not.
  6. The very same thing happened to me. I was following the instructions for “Gerd” and ulcers, but kept getting sicker, then it was two more years before they found the Celiac (2011).
