  1. I know this has been discussed here previously, but could not find any current topics about it specifically. Coffee, I know, in it's pure form, is safe. I drink five cups of coffee per day, minimum. I am not willing to give it up, period. That said, I would like to confirm what brands are truly safe. I've been drinking Folgers, but hate the taste, plus...
  2. Thank you so much. I was having a hard time finding that info on the lipstick tube itself. Really appreciate it. I've been trying to switch to dedicated gluten free products in most cases, but it's just hard to find the exact color I wanted, so I'm glad that I can keep using this product.
  3. Yeah, I heard about this too. Funny enough, of the various seltzer brands, the Budlight isn't even my favorite. I emailed them anyway to be sure. I already got a response from Truly and though they didn't answer my question about the beer word being on the label, they confirmed that they are gluten free, so I guess there's no concern there. I still can...
  4. I haven't been able to find Red Bridge, but Utah is famous for being difficult when it comes to any type of alcohol, so it's difficult to find a lot of specialty items. That's why I've been drinking hard seltzers, but what confuses me is the 'beer' line that you see on hard seltzer cans, even those labeled gluten free and made from fermented sugar or malted...
  5. Yes. I'm assuming the Karbach Ranch Water in all flavors must be safe because the original flavor is listed as okay on this site's Ranch Water article. I read on the can of the Ranch Water Hard Seltzer Agave Prickly Pear that it's gluten free and made with Cold Fermented Cane Sugar, and the last ingredient is Malted Rice. I have to wonder though, is...
  6. What about Karbach Ranch Water? I've been buying it and it says gluten free on the box. It contains malt, but I believe it's a rice malt. Same with other flavors of Budlite and Truly, they are all labeled gluten free, I thought I was safe just checking labels? Edit: checking labels, everything I buy is labeled gluten free, I see no ingredients...
  7. Is Maybelline Superstay Vinyl Liquid lipstick safe? The only ingredient of concern on the label is tocopherols, but when I asked the company I got the typical CYA statement regarding their careful allergen practices and such and talking to a doctor. I know tocopherols are usually from soy, but it doesn't identify the source for sure and it doesn't even...
  8. So, is this an old wives tale or actually something worth considering. Can't seem to get a straight answer online elsewhere. Are plastics made with gluten? If so, is there actually any danger of the leeching of gluten from said plastics into food or drink? I use all glass and stainless steel at this point with the exception of my dish drainer...
  9. Thank you! I looked and looked and it didn't give me the option for ingredients on the site I was on. Either I missed it or was on the wrong site. Again, thank you so much.
  10. So, been trying to convince if the four pharmaceutical medications I take contain gluten. I have already spoken with my pharmacist and she gave me the DailyMed website, but I haven't been able to pull any ingredient lists from that site. Been doing research online. FDA doesn't help much, though they did say that there are few medications that they know...
  11. Thank you so much! Been in the process of this past week. Got new stainless steel cookware (all my old stuff was nonstick) and have replaced plastics and such. Still have to get new cast iron and a new pizza stone. I'm also taking the GlidianX supplement with all possibly contaminated meals, just in case. My kitchen isn't yet cleared yet, so...
  12. Thanks for the info, both of you. I've actually started mixing my own using essential oils, food grade extracts, and base oil. I'm still playing around with scent mixtures, but I like it so far. I'm still in the process of researching the fragrance sprays I have. I'm not seeing anything on the label that jumps out, but I'm going to attempt to confirm...
  13. Exactly. I've never seen anything gluten related on an ingredient list of any fragrance, but my only concern would be any of the stuff that's either unlisted or even something you wouldn't think contains it. That said, as long as you're not inhaling it when you spray it, I don't know why there would be an issue anyway. Thank you! I'm just having a hard...
  14. I was reading various bits talking about how they don't have to list the ingredients in the fragrances used in perfume. I'm not sure how gluten would be present in the base, since it's usually an alcohol base, but was unsure if there could be in the oils used to make the scent? I've been researching and researching and cannot confirm it one way or another...
  15. Wasn't even aware this was a thing, and is it necessary? I've been looking into natural perfumes anyway, but it seems that if you specifically select gluten free in the search, it really narrows the options and it's quite expensive what is offered. Is it necessary? If I read the label and don't see anything blatantly gluten containing, do I really need to...
  16. Thank you. I've already begun replacing woods and plastics, but it's nice to know I can keep my other dishes safely, saving a lot of money there! Just gotta get scrubbing.
  17. Anyone have any experience with Mom's Secret or Honeybee Gardens makeups? According to Honeybee Gardens all their stuff is gluten free and what I've seen of the Mom's Secret, it is as well. I did get some of the Mom's Secret Lip Gloss and it seems to be pretty good, but their eyeshadow is too expensive for my taste, so that's why I've been looking...
  18. I'm having a hard time finding info on what cooking ware has to be replaced and what doesn't. I know that all plastics, woods, and scratched non-stick products have to be replaced because of their ability to hold in gluten contaminates. But, how about Stoneware? I have an old stoneware crockpot (very well used), as well as many coffee (and I don...
  19. Thank you for that. That makes me feel better. It's so hard to find articles that are clear on such things. I haven't been able to find this anywhere, but what happens if you also have issues with corn, rice, sorghum, etc? Does it have the same affect as what gluten does to your small intestine, or is that not an issue as long as you don't feel any physically...
  20. In this process of learning of my celiac, I'm struggling to know what to think in many cases. I have the silent type celiac disease, so no known symptoms to go by. How do I know if I'm truly gluten free? How do I know if ingredients that are accepted as being safe for gluten free diets, actually aren't safe for me? Is routine blood testing my only option...
  21. Thank you, again! When I started seeing articles about corn and rice being as bad a wheat for celiacs, it really scared me because I love my corn and rice and I've been eating that in place of wheat ingredients. This is a relief.
  22. Thank you. I actually got a bottle already and have been using it daily until I can make sure my kitchen is contamination free. I need to buy new pots and pans, coffee cups, utensils, etc. I don't know how strict I actually need to be, but I'm going to be as strict as I can be. My biggest concern know is that I can't switch my pets to grain free food, so...
  23. Thank you. I've been trying to weed out opinion pieces from fact. I've noticed that more reputable sites will cite actually studies and research, whereas some 'doctors' are pushing these extreme diets they claim are based in research, but they never include the studies or names tied to the studies, which I find extremely suspect. Just like those who claim...
  24. I really appreciate the help and assurance. As you navigate all this, how do you separate fact from fiction? I mean, I can read some articles and just tell that they're way too over zealous to push people in one direction or another. Besides this site, what are some trusted resources for information? I have used the Mayo Clinic and such, but they seem to...
  25. Yes, definitely just have to be more aware of little things like surfaces and stuff. Definitely an adjustment. I wondered about that. I'm just scared because I already have the diabetes against me, and I'm scared about my lifespan because of that, but then adding the celiac in, I feel like I'll be lucky to make it to 50 if I don't cut out everything...
