  1. I know this is a slightly older post, but you mention a "chemical taste" when you come off gluten etc and sort out your gut flora....does this taste like rubber, by any chance? Because I have that when my diet is really super clean.
  2. I don't mean to scold, but none of what you're eating there is food, every single thing is a food product, which means raw food adulterated with various additives. It's at that adulteration point where various nasties that the body dislikes start to creep in. Bulking agents, colours, sugar, various gums and additives. And of course, trace amounts of gluten...
  3. I know this is an older topic, but I just wanted to say that the heat intolerance/arrhythmia made me wonder if this was Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, or POTS https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Postural_orthostatic_tachycardia_syndrome
  4. Sadly, my dad died years ago at the relatively young age of 69, from a combination of liver cirrhosis and bowel cancer. I wish I'd known about coeliac back then, I might have been able to convince him to try something new (and potentially life saving). Interestingly, I recently found out from my sister (who is herself rake thin and afflicted with various...
  5. One thing I've learned from reading this forum over the last few months is that B12 and vitamin D deficiency are a recurring motif among coeliacs. That doesn't mean for a moment that you're *definitely* coeliac, but as soon as I saw those two deficiencies, my ears immediately pricked up. Good luck getting this sorted out - I've been hardcore gluten free for...
  6. While you're waiting for an outcome, it couldn't hurt to take probiotics, *especially* if you think you've picked something up while in the UK. They should settle your tum a little, and some (myself included) find they help with the processing of gluten in the gut/assist in the digestion of nutrients.
  7. This is also purely anecdotal, but I also look young for my age. I'm 46, but if I didn't have a greying beard, my face looks more like about 30. My dad - alcoholic, hard living, abundant conditions that I now associate with undiagnosed coeliac - also looked very young up till his death. Additionally, I have weak and poorly defined muscles, and always have...
  8. They definitely meant "glutened" 😊. Great thread btw, I've struggled with TMJ for decades, with my jaw threatening to "lock off" any time I take too big a yawn. I've learned coping mechanisms - if I cover my mouth when I yawn, the vacuum that forms seems to keep the whole mechanism in place. I've noticed this has eased considerably since going gluten-free, a...
  9. I think it's most likely the oats and dairy. Gluten gives me a lot of trouble, but unfortunately so does cheese, milk, yoghurt, oatcakes and porridge. Exclude dairy and oats for a week and see if that makes a difference to your symptoms.
