  1. Hi Everyone,

I asked Yoplait my question about their Desert Selections such as Rasberry Crumble and for anyone who is interested, this was the response:

    Dear Consumer:

We acknowledge receipt of your question concerning gluten, namely our Yoplait Source Dessert Selection yogurt, and would like to thank you for taking the time to contact us.

Please be advised that we carefully analyze all of our ingredients (presence of wheat, rye, barley, triticale, spelt, oats and malt) to ensure they do not contain gluten. The only Yoplait product containing gluten is our Yoplait Source Muesli Selection yogurt. This product is constituted of two separate components, which are a 130g yogurt container, manufactured and tightly sealed in our production plant, topped with a dome of crunchy cereals, sealed properly and provided by an independent supplier. The yogurt containers and dome of cereals are delivered in other premises for assembly purposes. Therefore, we can assure you that there are no cross-contamination risks with any other Yoplait products which can therefore be safely consumed by people with celiac disease.Consumer satisfaction is always high on our list of priorities.

Thank you for your interest and be assured that Yoplait is continuously working to be the first to offer consumers innovative products of the highest quality.

    Sincerely,

    Consumer Service

    YOPLAIT

  2. Thanks for the replies. I've had the gluten free pizza at Boston Pizza many times and was happy with their handling process and I have never got sick. And I will react to small amounts of contamination. I only had one bad experience at Boston Pizza when the waitress didn't hear that I ordered a gluten free and brought me a regular pizza. They were apologetic and made a gluten free pizza. I agree that a dedicated oven is a lot to expect. Regarding Pizza Delight, I really wanted to try their pizza and I expected a similar procedure to Boston Pizza. Maybe the lady I spoke to didn't know or didn't know how to explain their handling process, but she said that the gluten free pizza's were prepared in the same area as the others with no mention of a cleaned area or cleaned utensils. That concerns me, but maybe the lady I spoke to just didn't know?

  3. Chickpeas and Rice

Wonderful as a side dish or a yummy fantastic treat!

2-3 tablespoons olive oil (or your favorite)

    1 onion, diced

    1 can plain chickpeas

    1.5-2 cups of basmatti rice

    3.5-4 cups of water

    cumin to tatse (1/8 - 1/4 teaspoon)

    gluten-free soy sauce (VH)

Cook onion and oil in a pot until onion is browned. Place water in the same pot with the onion and oil. Bring water to a boil. Add rice, chickpeas, and cumin. Turn the temperature down to a simmer and let the rice cook as usual. Serve with gluten-free soy sauce when the rice is done.

I just wanted to say all of these recipes look so good, im not sure which one i want to try first tonight. i love they are all Gluten-free Casein-free, i thought i would bump this up for other new members.
Thanks, I know how frustrating the gluten-free and casein free diet can be so I decided to start making and collecting recipes. I'd like to make a recipe book someday.
  5. I personally don't like calling so I e-mail companies or get information from someone who has called. When I e-mail, I say something like, "Does (product names) contain gluten (wheat, barley, rye, oats)? If not, is it produced on the same line as products that conatain gluten?" I would say that almost every time I get a response, the author of the e-mail seems to know what they are talking about and I often get a blurb on what celiac disease is (I guess to prove that they know what they are talking about).

The only thing different is that I got a different brand at the supermarket when I was picking up the food for the party. Could that be the problem? The fact that it was a different brand.
Yes, sometimes gluten-free chips are produced on the same lines as gluten chips. Contacting the company is the only way to really know if they are safe.
  7. I am just curious if anyone has had reactions to these products. I am pretty sure I have had a reactions to Maple Leaf hot dogs and I think I had a gluten reaction to Amy's Soups. I have not personally had Old Dutch chips or Healthy Choice since going gluten free. Thanks.

I had another one, but the poll wouldn't let me add any more:

    Healthy Choice Soups

    Yes

    No

I had a reaction, but it was to something other than gluten (please indicate)

I have not had this product

    Maybe
