  1. Millet, yellow maize, chick pea flour, brown rice etc, are naturally gluten free (bar contamination). Many of these are called pseudo-grains.
  2. Avinin in Oats mimic gluten and many healthcare professionals suggest Celiacs rather do not use it. Even steelcut oats / groats, affect me and many others. An elimination process should be tried.

  10. Hello Christianna, I can confirm that Turmeric should help, as it is anti-inflammatory. You can start with a teaspoon of Turmeric and 1/4 teaspoon of Cayenne pepper.   11. I want to go for a endoscopy, but will the test show cancer in the small intistine / villi? I have been gluten free for a year - should I start eating gluten again before this test and for how long?
  12. I have had IBS (Celiac?) since a young age and got my first panic attack when I was 29. I have suffered from depression and anxiety for 40 years now. Is there a link?
  13. I agree. I did not opt to give advice on lifestyle, unless someone asks. My research sources are scientifically proven and I get my info from a Professor, Naturopath, Docters, health trained Registered Nurses etc. 👍
  14. I live in South Africa, am a pensioner with no medical insurance and the State Hospitals do not do tests. Why waste all that money if the symptoms are all there. I just stay away from gluten and milk (intollerant!)

  16. I read the forum's questions, answers and contributions with surprise. Should we ónly concentrate on gluten free and disregard the rest of our bodies' needs? We should look after ourselves wholelisticly, to improve our total immune system. It is not only about going gluten free. What about eating balanced and Nutritious, without too much junk food and drinks....
  17. I live in South Africa and am a single woman and pensioner. I battle with the prices of gluten free breakfast porridges and bread. I eat plant based (also milk intolerant) ánd have non-diabetic hypoglycemia. The gluten-free foods are also limited in our small town. If no advice, could someone at least encourage me? What do I eat??
  18. Free range eggs are safe but yes, but watch out what you put in it. In South Africa, the most well known brand of spices, has gluten listed amongst Allergens in their Cinnamon! 😣
  19. May times scientists cannot find a cause for i.e. leaky gut, because they do not consider lifestyle. Medicine can only relieve symptoms, but 80% of the causes are lifestyle and our own responsibility. We remain ignorant of what choices we make and do not take some resonsibility for our diseases.   20. I have long passed panic attacks and do not eat gluten. I was trying to pass some helpful info on some other posts. Chronic high stress also affects your blood sugar levels and could make you faint. I never did, because I took preventing measures by having a healthy glucose snack handy.

  22. Not really a solution. There is too much cross contamination in South Africa. I doctered my sore shins with Arnica Cooling gel and the inflamation is gone, thank you.

  24. Fainting, blackouts and anxiety. A psychiatrist explained to me that anxiety can make your body go into fight or fight mode. Your pancreas pumps glucose into your bloodstream, but if you do not use it to fly or fight, it leads to non-diabetic lów bloodsugar, which could let you faint (hypoglycemia).
