I was unable to tolerate the endoscopy when scheduled - blood test not showing anything but I am steroids which can negate tests I believe - especially the one I am on. Hi thanks for replying - last August the weight problem started and then I went gluten free ? I don't have diarrhea all the time but I do have a distended small intestine and if I eat gluten I do suffer with pain and loose bowel !

Hi there - can anyone confirm that they had continued weight loss even after going gluten free - weight loss has not stopped - lost 50 lbs so far which is very welcome and I look OK but just need reassurance that there is some inflammation in the gut that still needs to heal. Thanks all !

Thanks so much Scott this is very helpful - I did suspect my particular steroid (methyl prednisone) is notorious for negating test results - thanks again.

Hi Scott this is a wonderfully informative site and I can't thank you enough - it is so helpful. Could I pose a question though Scott - I have Lupus/Thyroid Hashi's and then Addison's - all auto immune - but ......I take steroids to damp down the immune system - will I then have a problem with being diagnosed with the antibodies required for a diagnosis...

Brilliant Scott just what I thought was happening and the confirmation in your article is so appreciated- interesting about thiamine too - will take a look and see if I should supplement a slightly higher dose. -

Hi Scott many thanks for your reply - I have not been officially diagnosed as waiting for endoscopy but being told that as i have a negative blood test it can’t be celiac - I have lost 37 lbs ! I am in Uk and the medical profession over here are to say the least rather lacking - I have had more up to date knowledge from forums that Drs could only dream a... -
Hi everyone - can anyone tell me if they have had problems with their medication not being absorbed correctly - i.e. liquid thyroid hormone and steroids - which are vital as I have Adrenal insufficiency. I seem to be losing the efficacy and having to take more of each as I am getting symptoms of undermedication. Thanks

Thyroid out - get it tested it could be thyroid ? Or selenium deficiency which is needed to convert thyroid hormone.
