This disease has the craziest symptoms. Interesting article. I had wondered why I had ridges in my thumbnails for years since I was 50 or so. Finally found them on the 300 symptoms of celiac disease. The things we don’t know about it.

Great article. Fyi Americas test Kitchen recently tested corn chips. The late July chips were picked as the worst one. I have never liked them when Costco offered samples and occasionally bought a bag for my chip loving son. The Lays corn chips are gluten free- both fritoes and tostitoes. Not sure abt the flavored ones. Bought a huge bag -32 oz- of fritoes...- 1 comment

I get really awful muscle spasms when my magnesium runs low. I take Trace Mineral Drops. I get it from Amazon for a few days and they go away. You can also buy them at Health, Food stores like Whole Foods sprouts. Magnesium pills don’t work like the liquid form which works fairly quickly. It doesn’t take very long for them to come back if I forget to tak...

Hope so. And I definitely feel better than i did last fall. I just thought the terrible tiredness and aching all over was part of getting old. And oh the terrible stomach problems. All of those are gone as well as my 25 yrs of horrible “heart burn”. A miracle. Hope not too many effects from a long case of malnutrition which is what celiac gives us all.

Have to say I was just diagnosed at 73 almost 74 last fall after complaining to doctors for years about my vicious heart burn. They told me to take antiacid. One head pf the department at the Medical College of Georgia said the same after he gave me an endoscope. The allergist also a department head - rheumatology - said u r allergic to wheat but go ahead...

My first doctor visit after my endoscope my gastroenterologist warned me would feel terribly hungry for a while. To beware because it’s a good way to gain weight. Alot of celiac’s experience it too and gain weight becaise of it. So far the weight gain hasn’t happened. Thank goodness. Right now my personal theory is that your stomach is waking up as it he...

I would quit the dairy for now. Alot my symptoms cleared up when i did that well continuing to eat gluten while waiting for my endoscope. You never know. I reacted to a can of split pea soup which had dairy in it almost immediately w stomach bloating. I never put dairy or gluten in my pea soup but there it was when I pulled the can out of the trash...

I would add Gingerale. Always calms my stomach down when i get nauseated. Thank goodness its not as bad now two months into gluten free for celiac. However still frequently exhausted so I got some B 12 at Sprouts. My mom swore by it for energy. If that doesn't work will head back to the doctor after Christmas. Tired of being tired. I did read a book...
