  1. So I just had another pregnancy loss. What they call a chemical pregnancy this time. I am getting a bit depressed to be honest. I know celiac disease can cause miscarriages but I had thought that over 10 years of careful eating would mean I should be one of those women who can sustain a pregnancy. My doc says it could be chromosomes but he thinks it more...
  2. Thank you. Never heard of that. Will take a look.
  3. After blood tests (after my missed miscarriage) I was found to be short of folate and extremely low on vitimin D. I was therefore out on 4000 iu vit D per day and told to take a daily dose of 5mg of folic acid. I opted to take 5 mg of 5 METH instead, since I had read that this was better for celiacs because it does not need to go through several processes...
  4. Interesting news this week is that my doctor did a host of new tests including a repeat ANA test. The latter is now negative. My doctor thinks that there is a possibility that I went for dinner and have been very slightly “glutened”. My body has then gone into hyper immune drive and started producing ANAs. He can’t say whether this was before my pregnancy or af...
  5. Thank you for your reply too Scott. The only reason he has told me to take it is to try to reduce issues caused by the Ana's so I might ask if taking one every other day might be something to try. I just kind of thought that if I was getting acid reflux from a daily 75g pill I might be intolerant. If I hadnt been found to have been carrying a dead embryo...
  6. So, after my missed miscarriage last year I got some bloods done. Being celiac I wanted to get my autoimmune system checked just in case of a problem. As it turned out, I had a pretty poor stock of vitamin D so I am now on a double dose of that but my doctor has said that next time I am pregnant I should take baby aspirin daily as research has shown it...
  7. Hi Tiffany, how have you got on in the years since. I have just been diagnosed with positive ANA and thinking of trying low dose asprin next time I conceive. Missed miscarriage last year 😩
  8. Thanks KK and I will speak to my doc and get the initial bloods done x
  9. Thank you, I will have a read through. I wasn’t offended though. Just trying to get as much info as possible and finding it a bit of a jungle x
  10. Yes, it is a well documented fact that sticking to a true gluten-free diet should alleviate the conception and pregnancy issues known to plague those with celiac disease. Perhaps this was before she was diagnosed. I am going to try again and see what happens (and pray hard!!). If it happens again I will get my bloods checked, celiac screen, autoimmunity,...
  11. Thank you Scott. The article about vitimin D was particularly interesting. I have seen a post today with a report suggesting that those who use multivitamins, with the exception of folate, have a higher chance of embryo/fetal demise, which has just left me even more confused! Thank you x
  12. Thank you, did she ever find out exactly why?
  13. That is really interesting. Just a little dubious about overdoing it. I think it is difficult to know how much is too much. I know that healthy coeliac women have healthy babies all the time so I’m thinking they can’t be too deficient.
  14. To be truthful, I am not 100% sure and you have a very good point. I was just told that my bloods are very good, Take today as I am coeliac so this is definitely a consideration.
