  1. My apologies for being a little late to the party, here, but I had to chime in (finally) after struggling with unrelenting insomnia for almost 2 months, now. Although I believe the brunt of it was caused by a monoclonal-antibody, anabolic osteoporosis drug I was on until January 10 (2024) -- when I stopped due to the severe side effects it caused -- I am...
  2. Yes, O.K. Glad to hear that same answer — and coming from a gastroenterologist, too. The thing is, I’ve been eating quite well my entire life and my blood work and scans never came up showing my being iron deficient, or with bad, thyroid numbers, or metabolic issues . . . but then again, no one was really looking for that stuff until October of this yea...
  3. Was thinking about trying that, but — as of this minute — plain yogurt and (especially) probiotic (dairy) drinks give me relief (at least for a little while during the day). Also, because the celiac caused my recently-diagnosed osteoporosis, consuming a number of different dairy products is the quickest/easiest way for me to get the calcium and D that my ...
  4. Yes, the H. Pylori test was a part of the endoscopy I had (with biopsies taken) at the end of November. When I got the results, the only things that were found other than the celiac was a slight hiatal hernia and inactive, chronic gastritis. Immediately after the endoscopy, the gastroenterologist who performed it, met with me while I was in recovery...
  5. Thank you for the insight. The thing is, I never had reactions to gluten in the past, so even if I ingested it (somehow), I don’t have a visible reactions to it. At least, I never did. I’ve been eating bone-killing gluten for decades and was never this nauseous for this long. After speaking to an assistant at the gastroenterologist’s office today...
  6. Please forgive my posting yet another question, but this “nausea component” of being a celiac-disease patient still has me baffled. Of course, I keep looking-up this same question on the internet, but am not getting the answers I need. When it comes to a newly-diagnosed celiac patient — or even if it’s someone who has been diagnosed months ago — w...
  7. Of the (so far) 17 separate results that came from the samples taken, only the D (too low) B6 (high), and Carotene (really high) were out of range. The thiamine, folate, B1, iron, magnesium, selenium and calcium were all well in the normal range(s). The thiamine even came out as higher-up in the normal range. There were even more results delivered on...
  8. Yes, normally, for people who can drink carbonated liquids, ginger ale would be a stomach-settling thing to have. In my case, since 2007, when I was first diagnosed with osteopenia, I am not to drink any kind of soda. Apparently, it leaches calcium from your bones. Having said that, the only other thing I was given to handle the nausea is generic...
  9. Thank you for the fast response. I’m so sorry that you are experiencing the same thing, but of course, I am relieved to know that it seems to be a very common side effect of this new diet. At least now — after two months being gluten-free — I seem to be having a few good hours during each day, but I’m still not having what I would call “strong,...
  10. Although I am a few months late, here (I only just joined the group over a week ago), I wanted to chime in on this what-I-think-is-strange “nausea” topic. I was given a prescription for generic Zofran, which thankfully, I haven’t had to use yet. But if it gets worse, I definitely will start taking it. So far, with everything I’ve been reading, nausea...
  11. Since I did not see very many discussions on this exact topic, I thought I should add it. Maybe there are other celiac patients out there who are just as confused about this particular topic as I am. As of late last week, soon after I finished a very comprehensive vitamin/mineral blood test, the results started coming in within 24 hours. As I expected...
  12. Please forgive this late reply on this topic, but I just joined the group a week ago and am still catching-up with all of the various topics, here. As of today, I am still getting the results of a comprehensive vitamin/mineral blood test that I had done late last week. As I kind of expected, my vitamin D level was lower than it should’ve been (causing m...
  13. Welcome to The Club, although I’m sorry for how you are feeling right now. Please be comforted in knowing that your story is all-too-familiar. When you mentioned how you were given almost no information, I got mad all over again when I thought my OWN experience, when I found out — on the morning of October 22, 2023, via the automatic results that wer...
  14. Update: just found out — from the results automatically sent from the lab where I had the vitamin/mineral blood test done yesterday — that the only thing that seems to be “low” is my Vitamin D level. I find that odd because it’s in a lot of the things that I’m eating and drinking and I take a 1000 IU supplement each day. But again, it could be due to t...
  15. Thank you. As soon as I have the results of my blood test and/or hear back from my new GCP, I’ll be reporting everything here — I will want to get people’s opinions and hear their insights. This site has been a great help.
