  1. My mom and I were going to try to make a gluten-free potato bread, but when I went to Meijer to go get the stuff to make it (xanthan gum is expensive!) I found that they sell a lot of gluten-free stuff! One golden find was Gluten-Free Pantry Favorite Sandwich Bread Mix. I may buy a case online, since one box was $5.49 at Meijer. All of the ENER-G rice bread...
  2. I'm going to be at work until 8pm Eastern tonight (I live in Michigan). I often work form 2p-5p, sometimes I'm on later until 8p, sometime I get on earlier... But, if anyone has any of the messengers... AIM: alleightcrayons Yahoo!: threeringfilly
  3. I looked at the Ezekiel site earlier, and I saw posts about it on the forum...are even their "gluten free" stuff not gluten free? They had a special section for gluten-free stuff... I think my mom has it, since she has a lot of the same symptoms I do, but I don't think she would ever change her diet. My sister and dad are both fine, no reactions at all...
  4. I'm not buying online....yet. The girls at work (one with Celiac, another with a severe wheat allergy) have said that there's all kinds of places in the area that sell gluten-free foods, so I'll exhaust my local options before going online. I toasted the Ener-G brown rice bread this morning, and ate that with some peanut butter and jelly. It was slightly...
  5. I would. Except I live in Michigan!
  6. Yeah, I know. It's going to be a total lifestyle change for me. I decided to make tacos for dinner tonight, and bought corn tortillas from Trader Joe's, and they weren't so bad. I just have to figure out this bread thing. I stopped in the bread aisle, and another woman was looking at the rice bread. I asked her if she was gluten-free, and she said no...
  7. Thanks for the suggestions! I think that shopping online is going to be a bit hard...Most of the time my BF and I grab essentials every couple weeks, and then I will stop by the store if there's something I want to make for dinner that night. And it's going to be very hard to live without bread, or pasta. I love pasta. One Kroger near us sells the gluten...
  8. I should have paid closer attention to posts on the message boards. Apparently, the Kroger that does sell bread by my boyfriend's house sells the Ener-G brand and nothing else. I was craving a peanut butter and jelly sandwich last night (something which I used to absolutely hate, but now crave quite regularly), and decided to buy some gluten-free bread. I...

This is one of my worries. I LOVE going to Caribou, and will need to make a stop by their website to see what's safe...
  11. It's getting easier. But then again, it's only the 3rd day. But having a completely gluten-free day yesterday, I realized how much better I felt. I wasn't as gassy during the day, I had more energy, and I wasn't rushing to the bathroom (well, I was, but that was because of all the coffee I drank, not because of something I ate!). While I haven't been...
  12. I've never been good with diets. I get going strong for a few weeks, sometimes I've held out for a month or two, but then I fall back and go right back to all the foods I love. So, I've decided to ease into this one. There are still some foods in the house that I bought for me, which I will eat. But it will be so hard to give up some thing food I really adore...
