  2. I just did 100 sit ups, I hope I do it each day to loose weight. I have celiac where it is hard to loose weight, and I also have thyroid disease which don help loose weight. So no matter what I do I cant loose weight. I did loose weight before, but then it came back n I cant get rid of it! I remember my friend sayin she use to do sit ups each night to get in shape in the stomach department...So I was like, hm...She is a toothpick tho so I said I will do 100 since I'm fat. Just hope it works. Just gotta figure out what to do for my bum and legs hahaha.

I am almost 18. Never had a date and I have no friends. Is it cuz I'm fat? I mean, I try and talk, usually I do with this girl in class (I go once a week, its a computer school). But I don't know what to reply with...I think I lost all my social abilities lol. I can talk with people, like last year, I talked with everyone, but no one would want to hang out or nothing...I don't get it.

Hi there! I cruz around here but try not to post to much-just read ;o) I wanted to tell you that maybe you can try to keep a food journal. Just to track yourself and also write how you feel when you are eating. Drink plenty of water. I know, water yuck! But after a while your body will want water in place of soda (which is not not good for us anyway with the coloring!!) Sometimes when I think I am hungry I will drink some water and feel full but not always!! Try some gooood "red delious" apples. That is a good kind they are so sweet and not bland. I have battled weight so I know just how you feel. If just feels like it will never end but one day it will. YOu just have to keep your chin up and be thankful for the things you have-focus on them on not so much yourself. Look at yourself as a being in place of an object. You are a special person. I am kind of alone in this celiac so if you want, feel free to email me and we can chat!! I could use a buddy ;o) I wish you well and hey, cheer up it is the Holiday season and not a good time to worry about your weighta nyway! That is what I say :P

  3. hmmm....my acne has been a little worse since going gluten-free two weeks ago...but I don't doubtt that going gluten-free will help clear up acne...maybe it is that I am getting rid of the toxins and things get a little worse before they get better?

    Have a good night!

hi-ME TOO!!!!! I HAVE BEEN gluten-free FOR ALMOST 3 WEEKS AND I LOOK 13 AGAIN!!!!!! HOPE YOUR RIGHT AND WE WILL CLEAR UP BEFORE THE HOLIDAYS-URGH!

  4. Hi-I am such a gum girl and have really missed my gum. I to read about gum base and it is in all gums ;o( I found last night on the front page to Celiac where you can purchase food and there is a new gluten-free gum. It has gum base but the state that it is natural so I guess it makes some difference???? Anyway, thought I would pass that on. I think it is only around 1.00 for a pack....Liv :D

  5. Hi-me again. I checked the body lotion I have been using (pre-celiac dx 2 weeks ago) after reading on gluten in products and such anyway, I have been using this product from Target called california baby it states on the front of the bottle no nut olis, gluten, soy, oat or dairy. It is for babies and sensitvie adults. This is very good stuff!!!!!!! It softens my ol leather feet and hands in a jiff!

  6. I have very dry skin to. On my face I use pure extra virgin olive oil. It really does not smell if it is EVOO and then I dont have to worry about all the extra chemical-its just olive oil ;o) I just dab a little bit of it on after a shower and plus my skin as cleared up and seems to have evened out my blotchiness.......Liv :)

  7. Milk free is way easier for me I think because the sub are more 1:1 and tastier.

I use pretty much all the basic recipes. Like juliem, I use lots of olive oil instead of butter for sauteeing and such.

Sweet potatoes are baked then sliced. I cook them briefly with orange juice and spices. Homemade marshmallows go on top (blue dye used in storebought is a no no in our house too). A homemade marshmallow fluff will make people forget about cool whip on top of pies. (Making marshmallows is only a little harder than making Jello). Coconut milk can replace canned milks in desserts.

    Good luck.

How do you make home made marshmallows? Sounds fun and yummy! :D

  8. Just a word of warning. This place can be addictive  It is so nice to have a place to talk to folks dealing with the same issues. Where else can we discuss our poo at length, for instance? I know my husband doesn't want to hear about mine anymore

thank you for bringing me in to your spcea :D my hubbie is so happy as well! Nice to know I am not the only one talking poo!!

  9. Hi k-WOW yes that happens to me as well :o I am so glad to heat this. I woundered about the relation and have read some on it althought it is not mentioned that often. That is one of the effects that I have. I to have the dropping feeling and at night it can be very bad. I have been dx with cardiac conditions though that may or may not be related and that was the reason for my posting. At least now I know that the palpatations are linked. Thank you for sharing that with me......

    Liv :D

Hi-What you described is what happens to me-every bit of it. Only I do have more extensive symptoms that may or may not be linked. Chances are they are not linkned but I would like to think so because that means I will only get better with diet. :) When that feeling hits me the entire time I am sitting real quiet, still , breathing and praying. It will get much worse if I put some of my famous panic into it so I use a lot of prayer ;) And, yes and I am gluten free as I am a dx. Celiac and I have noticed a change with the pvc's and "dropping feeling".Also seem to have some relief from my panic feelings-only been gluten free for a bit over 1 week now. Feel free to email me if you want to talk more on this

  10. Hi, Welcome,

If you're talking about palpatations / erratic heart beat type stuff, that's my first indication that I've been glutened now (BTW, I have reason to believe that I'm not Celiac, but have wheat allergy or intolerance). For a couple of months before I discovered that my problems were due to gluten (elimination diet), I was regularly having a very specific arrhythmia (usually at night) which my doctor never picked up on because it never happened when I was there (presumably because I hadn't had wheat before my appointments). These went away immediately after I went gluten-free. When I challenged gluten, I got it the worst ever - about 5 hours after the pasta dinner. We were up all night because I was afraid to go to sleep that my heart would stop and not start again. Now (almost a year later), when I get glutened just a little, it appears that about 24 hours later, I get the "heart drop" (that's what it feels like - like my heart is dropping).

I've noticed that my reactions to gluten never seem to follow the same pattern they did the previous time. I never know what's going to happen when I get glutened anymore.

If you're talking about heart disease, or other specific conditions, this doesn't really apply, as my heart appears to work perfectly when I'm at the docs or not eating wheat.

    take care,

    k

  11. hi every body here. I am new as of late last night ;o) I posted one question but did not introduce myself.....I was so excited that I forgot my manners  I was dx. last week. I have had ALL the symptoms that I have found all ya'll have to. I am 30, a stay at home wife of almost 6 years. I am Crazy as a sprayed roach but after reading these post sounds like Im not the only one and there is hope for me yet!! :D I am so looking foward to meeting some new friends that can help me and that already understand me-you know, this could just be a blessing. How many people get to meet so many others that ALREADY understand them, I mean really! Well, just wanted to tell a small bit about my lil Celiac self and hoping that you will accept me into your world.......Liv :D

  12. Welcome 143horses, glad you're here!

Are you asking has anyone suffered from cardiac problems from the celiac disease itself? Or from being gluten free?

You're asking in an area that interests me a lot, since I've got a history of heart disease on both sides of my family: strokes on my father's side; my mother has had the full gamut, but is still alive at 94....strokes, heart attack, heart failure & a pacemaker. It runs back in both families.

So I figure I'm a statistical candidate for this kind of thing later on....all I can report in is a very definite drop in total cholesterol count and definite increase in HDL (good cholesterol) after I went gluten free. Knowing that I was headed into later in life probability of heart problems, I had tracked my cholesterol for oh, a good 15 years, so by now have enough evidence to say that it's not a blip, not a drop just one year.

That's all I can report for now, but like I say I'm interested in what you ask. What connection are you asking about? Celiac disease + heart problems?

Hi-I was asking if anyone with Celiac has also heart problems. And if they had fewer symptoms after becoming gluten-free.......................good to hear that your cholestrol went down I have read that it could go up and that ruffeled my feathers!! I see someone has posted a link Ill go in there and you may want to as well ;o)

  13. Hi-I am new here and am so excited with all the info I have found that there are others like me!! I am Celiac amoung other things. But I wanted to ask if there is anyone who has suffered from cardiac problems from this? I have. I read that palpations and such can go with this but wanted to know if ya'll have had it?
