  1. And now something for the sugarholics out there. Dalgona coffee. https://12tomatoes.com/dalgona-whipped-coffee/?utm_source=glp-faith&utm_medium=social-fb&fbclid=IwAR11fwbLA6vvk13nBhvbaCPNSMPvSlCQSQsLq_swxaMc3XfYkX7VbCSqS3c
  2. It could be caused by a reaction to something in your diet. Many celiacs develop food reactions beyond just wheat, rye and barley. Your body can become sensitized to any food. Also there is a small percentage of celiacs who react to oats just like they do to wheat, rye and barley. One thing you can try is an elimination diet. A good place to start...
  3. Ennis has it right. Checking all the ingredient lists is the first step. Then try the ingredients one at a time. They use different flours in gluten-free products and also different additives to help the dough rise. Some commonly used leavening agents are zanthan gum, and guar gum. Zanthan gum is made by bacteria and some people have a reaction to...
  4. When making masks you might want to add a salt filter. Just a layer of cloth soaked in salt water and left to dry will work. The idea is virus water droplets dissolve a little of the salt. Then the salt dries out and destroys the virus in the process. The salt crystals break it apart. I plan to use a salt filter layer inside a rubber band mask. Then...
  5. Some info in links. https://www.verywellhealth.com/gluten-free-diarrhea-constipation-and-heartburn-drugs-4139871 This thread is pretty old, so please verify info yourself. Things (ingredients) can change.
  6. I haven't tried this myself, but gluten-free cake in an egg sounds interesting. https://www.goodshomedesign.com/how-to-bake-a-cake-inside-an-egg/?fbclid=IwAR2b3MRmAO_WBmGNjEJqfzJ6dI9HNxogTPQAp2nkqnvumCGP0W85yHMOnDM
  7. Have you seen the movie "Alien" ? So, seriously, are you gluten-free and following the diet because you have celiac disease?
  8. I don't know of any reason not to take them as long as they don't have gluten in them.
  9. The first thing I'd do is make a list of all the ingredients in those 3 products. Then compare to see if there are any ingredients common to all of them. If there are then try eliminating those ingredients for your diet.
  10. Hi, I don't think that rectal burn is a typical symptom of celiac, but the symptoms can vary widely. Celiac attacks the small intestine, and can cause mal-nourishment. But it can affect the skin, joints, nerves, brain and almost anything else you can think of too. If you are finding surprise gluten in foods then you are probably not eating a simple...
  11. Hi, I had trouble sleeping and joint pain from the low vitamin D. I am not sure what other symptoms it caused but those both resolved when I got my D levels higher. I also felt better mentally. You might want to check and make sure your multi vitamin has boron in it too. Boron helps the body retain vitamin D.
  12. Hi CottonCandyDream, Oily fish is a good source of vitamin D. Salmon, tuna, mackeral, sardines all have vitamin D in them and so do eggs. Free-range/pastured eggs are better tho. https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/9-foods-high-in-vitamin-d#1 Getting some sun is a great way to improve vitamin D levels. At least it is in the summer time...
  13. Um, yeah! I had symptoms for years after going gluten-free. Some caused by additional food intolerances that I didn't learn about for a while. Some were caused by low vitamin D, selenium and iodine levels. But I did get better. It can help to simplify your diet. Stay away from processed foods for a few months and also stay away from sugar,...
  14. Hi GFSteveGF, I wonder if you've tried eggs from free-range chickens? I am curious if they work better for you. The chicken video you posted didn't show any washing process for the eggs. I doubt they are not washing them tho. I have chickens and they lay clean eggs but also dirty eggs. Silly chickens! So I wash them before using them. I think...
  15. Feller explains that "May contain eggs" means it doesn't contain eggs. And that dress doesn't make you look fat...
  16. I think the point of stocking up on TP. food etc is to avoid having to go to a store and break the social distancing guidance. It took me a while to understand that myself. I was thinking all those TP hoarders were crazy or greedy. And some of them are. But the social distancing guidance is an important part of containing the pandemic. Fewer trips to...
  17. Try peppermint tea or peppermint Altoids.
  18. Hi Jewel Pancake, That is a really low vitamin D level. I know when I had low vitamin D I had sore joints and other symptoms from it. You don't need to depend on the sun though. You can take some Nature Made brand vitamin D pills daily and it should help. Try to take it every day as the body needs time to build levels. I take 1000 IU daily but...
  19. Dr. Alessio Fasano did a video about covid -19 and celiac.
  20. Nature Made has a soy-free vitamin D pill. Don't get the kind in oil, instead get the solid pill form.
  21. This research suggests there may not be an increased risk of infections. At least that's how I read it. It's not specific to covid-19. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5802675/
  22. Hi, They usually do a test called a celiac disease panel. It includes blood antibody tests like DGP IgA, DGP IgG EMA and serum IgA. There's a restaurant called Tuckers in Armstrong that serves gluten-free foods. They might be able to suggest a doctor to go to.
  23. Sounds like a switch to coconut. almond or cashew milk would be a good move then.
  24. He should be fine. But it can take months to recover from celiac damage. So don't expect he will be completely better right away. Often it seems people have worse symptoms from eating gluten after going gluten-free. Even tiny amounts of gluten are enough to set off the immune reaction. A good way to start the gluten-free diet is to stick with whole...
  25. Hi, Yes, you would need to eat some gluten daily for 12 weeks for the blood antibodies testing, and 2 weeks for the endoscopy testing. A slice or 2 of wheat toast is enough for the immune system to react. More than enough actually.
