  1. Your post brings back preparations for a backpacking trip when we were staying at my parents' house. I made beef jerky and granola and (I think) gained new respect from my mom She tasted the granola and with an astonished expression said "This tastes good" and made it for herself ever after. Recipes are long since gone, but I should still be making my...
  2. Now this sounds more my speed and effort level - a sled bar with ice plentifully at hand and a perfectly mixed wodka martini for your arrival And I, still being in one piece and still able to breathe, will be able to join you in celebrating our Double Diamond (which is where we live in Nevada) or Diamond Peak (which is where we used to live). My breathing...

  6. I hope you had those poor cows in heated barns with heated cups My dad never made us milk the cows when it was snowing -- just as well, since I used to milk Moo out in the middle of the paddock wherever she happened to be, just took my stool and bucket along :D usually in bare feet until the day she kicked the bucket over and trod on my foot But she...
  7. I think we got us a willing snow shoveler - heck, maybe she luvs it so much we won't even have to feed her - it'll be too warm for Shadow inside anyway. And we can free up the cabana boys (glad you described what they are, IH ) for other duties. They can run up and down stairs (you do have stairs don't you? Love?)
  8. Your results are strongly positive. It is possible that they may (or may not) want to do the endoscopy with biopsies just to check what your level of damage is, and for that you still need to be eating gluten. Your doctor will probably refer you to a gastroenterologist for further work-up. Welcome to the board, and you may as well start reading as...
  9. Okay, here's a way to highlight the gender equity pay gap: http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/8013967/Men-charged-more-at-coffee-cart Coffee will cost 10 per cent more for men than for women at Wellington's Victoria University Law School campus this morning. (Ho Hobbit warm fuzzies left over from last night )
  10. I will unload the dishwasher and be a slaughter observer (used to be good at that as a kid, haven't tried it lately) but you need strength to cut a throat, you need some OJ so to speak. Oh, and I will stir whatever needs stirring while LTT is busy doing something else --- and no, I will NOT stir THAT! - that doesn't need stirring. Oh, and we all...
  11. Well down here, in Wellywood, in Middle-earth, in Wellington in the middle of New Zealand at the bottom of the earth, peeps is going nutz over elves and special effects and make-up and sculptors who sculpted all the tools and implements for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, as it is set to premiere this evening. The stars are promenading down the red carpet...
  12. Actually, I think His Majesty has been rather portunate in his duties, with a few exceptions for proclaimething.
  13. Well, if you didn't always kick 'em off under the table.....
  14. If the Psillllyville Royal Dictionary did, in fact, get left behind in the mad retreat to Psillyville 2, methinks it could be recreated. If we each contribute one word per day, and put someone (not me, she says quickly) in charge of the compilation thereof, should be done in no time. We already have two words today, ept and clement in nonalphabetical order...
  15. TO HE WHO LIVETH ON HIGH: Dost thou have a magic wand that thee could wave vaguely in the direction of afflicted subjects to accomplish this? Thanks, much appreciated!

  18. My gawd, I am so cool and hip and hot I am afraid to post a pic as my av due to the reactions it may engender. And I am espoused to a super sugar daddy which allows me to spend my days on idle frivolities (and keeping my trophy-wife bod in shape (my night-times are of course committed). Think Hugh Hefner and a cool hip playboy bunny (Ewwwww ); think...
  19. We kept our turntable and it is inserted in our "stack" for all those old vinyls... no USB though It gets to be hard to stay up-to-date as PeOter found out recently.
