Eczema or dermatitis herpetiformis
Scott Adams replied to ellieb13's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
If you get tested for celiac disease be sure that you are eating lots of gluten daily in the 6-8 weeks before the test, otherwise you could get false positive results. Here is more info about how to do a gluten challenge for a celiac disease blood panel, or for an endoscopy: and this recent study recommends 4-6 slices of wheat bread... -

Antibodies went up

You are correct in looking closer at her diet, as there may still be trace amounts of gluten, even from a gluten-free bakery (are their ingredient suppliers certified gluten-free?). You can search this site for prescriptions medications, but will need to know the manufacturer/maker if there is more than one, especially if you use a generic version... -
You're doing an amazing job planning ahead for your son's first ski trip with celiac disease! It’s great that the hotel and organization are supportive, which makes a big difference. For dinners, consider simple gluten-free meals like pre-cooked rice or quinoa bowls with a protein (like grilled chicken or turkey slices) and steamed or roasted vegetables. ...

Unfortunately many doctors don't know the proper protocol for a screening for celiac disease. Here is more info about how to do a gluten challenge for a celiac disease blood panel, or for an endoscopy: and this recent study recommends 4-6 slices of wheat bread per day: -
Test result insight
Scott Adams replied to disneyfamilyfive's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
It sounds like you're navigating a lot right now, and it’s good that you’re being proactive about your health given your family history and symptoms. Based on the results you shared, the elevated IgA Gliadin and IgG Gliadin antibody levels could indicate an immune response to gluten, which may suggest celiac disease or gluten sensitivity. However, your tis... -

Yes, she should be eating lots of gluten daily...4 slices of wheat bread would be ideal for the screenings. -
Contaminated cooking oils
Scott Adams replied to Jsingh's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Consider California olive oils, as they seem to be very pure, and as @RMJ mentioned, look for certified gluten-free ones. -
You’re already making significant strides toward healing, which is great to see. It's not uncommon to experience persistent or new symptoms during the early stages of a gluten-free diet, especially since full healing can take time and other underlying issues might still need addressing. Here are some thoughts and suggestions based on what you've shared: ...

Does the same issue happen if you eat a vegan yogurt, kimchee, pickles, etc? Those might be better ways for you to get your probiotics.

Yes, it will affect your life insurance rates for sure, and possibly your health insurance rates, at least in the future. I pay very high rates for life insurance in comparison to others I know who are my age, and my last policy was harder to obtain due to my diagnosis. As for health insurance, currently under the ACA you can't be denied or charged more if...

Celiac Maybe a Possibility?
Scott Adams replied to More2Learn's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Possibly, but there used to be a movement within the celiac disease community to just tell restaurants that you have a deadly wheat/gluten allergy to, hopefully anyway, ensure that your meal is actually gluten-free. I don't recommend this approach at all, and if I ran a restaurant where there was ANY risk of cross-contamination, I'm afraid that I would decline... -
You mention that you are waiting on your test results--did they do a celiac blood panel? If so, were you eating lots of gluten in the 6-8 weeks leading up to the test? This article might be helpful. It breaks down each type of test, and what a positive results means in terms of the probability that you might have celiac disease. One test that always...
