  6. Great question, as there have been studies to show that meat from grain-fed beef is gluten-free: I suspect that there must have been cross-contamination, and there could be many avenues for this, but it does make one wonder if it isn't better to grind your own beef?
  7. It sounds like you're dealing with a lot of frustrating symptoms. Low vitamin D can definitely contribute to fatigue, muscle weakness, and bone pain, which might explain some of what you're experiencing. Anxiety can also manifest physically in various ways, including chest pain, muscle tension, and tremors. However, given the range of symptoms you're describing...

  11. More research is being done in this area, but much more needs to be done. Cross-reactivity is well known: and the fact that certain oat varieties seem to also trigger reactions in some but not all people with celiac disease is also well known (and the G12 test can detect this type of oats, which is new news to me).
  12. I'm not sure about the absorption difference, but I've been taking Citracal Maximum Plus from Costco for years now, but my gut healed decades ago, so I guess this would depend on how long you've been gluten-free.

  19. Exactly, and is GFWD saying that with the additive the test result would have gone down from nearly 300 ppm to zero? I doubt this, even if it were lower than 300 ppm I suspect that it would have been above 20 ppm. The entire argument they are making just doesn't serve the gluten-free community at all.   22. The most likely path for gluten contamination is eating outside your home, especially in restaurants. Certainly it is possible that contamination can creep into your diet from other places, but GFCO products are generally considered safe, and our article on their certification is aimed at improving their certification standards, rather than a call to stop...

At this point all celiac disease markers haven't yet been discovered, so no genetic test could completely rule out celiac disease, although you might be 98%+ sure that you don't carry the genes if you tested negative. As for non-celiac gluten sensitivity, the research on this is just beginning, and as far as I know there may not yet be genetic markers identified...
