  1. Lisinopril is very widely used as a first step blood pressure control drug. I've not heard of any correlation with it as a cause of celiac disease or gluten sensitivity. Given that so many people use the drug, I would be surprised if there is such a correlation, but it's not impossible.
  2. Celiac.com 10/01/2020 - People with celiac disease, even those on a long-term gluten-free diet, with healed mucosa and no obvious gut damage, still show signs of ongoing disease at the molecular level, and may not be "healthy," according...
  3. Are you saying that you were diagnosed with celiac disease but your doctor did not tell you to go gluten-free afterwards? That would amount to malpractice. There is no excuse, yet after 25 years of running this site we still hear stories like this...sad!
  4. Celiac.com 09/30/2020 - Looking for an amazing dish to help you turn some corners at your next cookout? These amazing fish tacos al pastor are just the ticket! Seasoned just like your favorite pork al pastor, these tacos are guaranteed...
  5. If I were you I would call your doctor and get the OK to go gluten-free now, if you aren't currently. You only need to eat gluten until the tests are done.
  6. The only medication I've seen possibly linked to celiac disease is Benicar, and it's unclear if there is a real link, although there are lawyers suing the maker for this: https://www.celiac.com/tags/benicar/
  7. First, this forum has a built in spell checker, so please try to use it. There is also free google translate in case your knowledge of English is the issue...you could first translate there, and cut and paste it here: https://translate.google.com/ I'll do my best to help, if I correctly understood your question. First, if you have access to health...
  8. This is a small percent of people. What this article means is that the vast majority of people will not need a biopsy, and it is no longer the "gold standard" of diagnosis. The gold standard is now blood screening, and only in a small number of cases should a biopsy be considered. Gastroenterologists will be bummed. 😄
  9. @Bouchra hopefully the 3rd time is the charm! Actually it's pretty awful that this is still happening given the vast amount of information that anyone can find with a simple search about celiac disease. You should only need to be diagnosed once, and then should go gluten-free for life right after, no if's, and's, or but's! There is no such thing as "celiac...
  10. In case you are interested we've done many research summaries and articles on diabetes and celiac disease: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/celiac-disease-amp-related-diseases-and-disorders/diabetes-and-celiac-disease/
  11. The print function is normally part of your browser. On a desktop PC you can right click on the article and select print. There should be no reason you can't print our articles.
  12. Celiac.com 09/29/2020 - Currently, the only medically accepted treatment for celiac disease is a completely gluten-free diet (GFD), which can be both expensive and challenging to maintain. One promising celiac treatment currently in development...
  13. Celiac.com 09/28/2020 - Biomedical researchers Tuulia Hyötyläinen and Matej Orešič, at Örebro University, have published two studies connecting highly fluorinated chemicals to autoimmune diseases in children. In the studies, Hyötylä...
  14. For some a low FODMAP diet is the only way, in addition to their gluten-free diet:
  15. Pure tomato juice is naturally gluten-free, but be sure to read the label of any commercial product that may contain additional ingredients.
  16. Be sure to keep eating gluten until the tests are done. Also, did you get another blood test for celiac disease? This should have been done before your biopsy.
  17. So you were diagnosed with celiac disease, but apparently were not following a gluten-free diet? You said: "...since I stopped following gluten-free," so I assume you've been eating gluten during this 20 years. If so, this would likely be the cause of your severe nausea, and hopefully you don't have cancer, but keep seeing your doctor until you find out....
  18. Actually all, or nearly all those with DH have celiac disease, and will test positive for antibodies. Some with DH don't , but many do. I did, and did have DH on one are on the top of my hand. After a severe sunburn from fishing on a lake at 7,000 ft. I never had DH there again--I don't recommend this method of treatment!
  19. Feel free to post the recipe in our recipe area...not a perfect fit, but close enough: https://www.celiac.com/forums/forum/27-gluten-free-recipes-cooking-tips/
  20. Celiac.com 09/24/2020 - Celiac disease is an autoimmune condition in which eating wheat, rye, or barley triggers an adverse immune reaction in the gut. Celiac disease affects about one percent of the population. Diagnosis can be a long...
